If you want to create an elaborate, multi-leveled kiosk for your organization, Four Winds Interactive Content Manager Desktop can definitely do that for you. Just know going in that it's not the easiest to operate, and definitely devote time to training. Definitely have a couple of people go through this training, so it's not just one person in your organization that can operate Four Winds.
How was it well suited to me? - The leaderboard and freedom to edit the quiz. The fastest finger quiz to announce the winner based on fairness. The ease of login through QR Scanner. Also, it did not pinch my pocket at all. The best part is this $25 earning opportunity via feedback :-). And the list goes on... The less appropriate part was mentioned earlier in ways that I see improvements with Slido, coming to utilize Slido everywhere and in various ways. Overall, I love the AI suggestions.
In most cases, and I mean almost all, Zoom is vastly superior to Teams in terms of functionality and ease of use. Case in point: I recently tried to join a Teams meeting in the web browser, and it took me multiple attempts to access it. This NEVER happens with a Zoom link.
The FWi platform handles very complex or unique situations better than other signage solutions. They support every standard type of data and web service, and through a supplemental Integration Framework product they can support almost anything out there... or things that aren't even out there yet.
Their support and assistance has gotten very good over the years; I'd say it is now excellent. Their team of sign builders and engineers have advanced knowledge of the product and how it can be used; you won't get a "did you try restarting it?" when dealing with them.
Audio quality of phone calls is spot on. Calls are clear and crisp.
Video quality of video meetings are clear and there aren't any pixelization artifacts that some systems can have.
Having AI summaries have been life changing for us. We no longer have to concentrate on note taking, like we did in the past. The summaries are accurate and enable us to put our efforts in the meeting or conversation. Plus, we can save them into our practice management system as required.
When working with a large installation the amount of mouse clicking and dragging and setting of settings and make your hand a bit sore but the modular component setup of this software demands a lot of settings.
As a custom software designer myself I would like to see more group effective operations so I could effect a change at a property level instead of an individual player level.
Upgrading to a new version of the software I have left to the experts at FWI because it is rather complex. They state they are working on better ways to perform large upgrades.
I miss the Slack integration; they used to have this and they deprecated it in the last year or so.
I believe they have a nice integration for PowerPoint, would be nice if they had something similar with google slides since that is what we typically use internally.
We use the word cloud feature often and sometimes answers seem to get lost (as in don't show up at all) on the screen. for example, an answer will be there, then as more answers come in it disappears, and when we get to a certain threshold of answers it somehow pops back up again. It's not the worst but sometimes someone will ping me that their submission didn't make the word cloud and they're bummed.
Allow a way to group individual people chats - not channels just individual peeps into groups for ease of finding - like how you can group shared calendars into sections in Outlook
It gives High engagement of audience or trainees during live workshops and easily connect with other software. Ease of use for both participants and host for live interaction and workshops. Since it doesn't require any app to download and can be used via browser. It understands the issue of users and gives updates time to time.
We're sticking with Zoom for the foreseeable future--given its compelling feature set, ease of use, and advanced technology, there's just no other competition to be excited about. Plus it's a Gartner-recognized industry leader, so it's a rather easy choice.
Overall, it is a handy tool. We do not use it too often in meetings; we started using it creatively for quizzes and Q&A with radio/TV audiences. Producers or Sponsors often explicitly request the option to include this particular type of interaction, and we are happy to do so. It helps that the setup is easy, so is copying events, etc. I sometimes miss Switcher (for our live events), but I understand the reasons it was phased out
Zoom is made for the non tech office. It has features that can be made to do what you need to run things on a day to day basis. Immediately we we able to get meetings going with remote employees. The ability to be able to add smartphone connected people was a big plus. Zoom met our needs at the time.
There have been less than a handful of outages during our two years with Zoom, and whenever there was one, an email informing us of the outage went out immediately, and they had the issue resolved shortly thereafter.
Zoom has among the best performance of any video conference platform, as I've mentioned several times. Besides that, their Chat platform works great, and their back end always runs smooth. It's unfortunate that reporting can now only be done by one month at a time, but nonetheless, it only takes a second to run any kind of Zoom report, whether it's an attendee report, Poll results, a user report, a list of meetings from the past month, etc.
I had to use the support for this tool only once. The response was very rapid, very professional and fulfilled my needs immediately. Online support services are sometimes advertised only to lure people into buying the product but and non-existent or difficult to use afterwards. Not with Slido. This was not an automated chatbot and the direct contact really helped me
Because I got a response right away, and was assigned one specific individual to work with me from the beginning to the resolution. I had an actual email address and direct contact with this person without having to start over and over every time I contacted Zoom - this singular individual remained attentive and was well informed on the subject matter and quite able to resolve my needs.
I find that training is very informative as it helps understanding the software usages and implementation. It gives the usgaes area and how to create gamification and live Q&A section so that you can use in live team meetings and workshops. It is very useful in training and webinars where a large pool of people are there.
If you receive any pushback from higher ups, point to any of the various positive reviews like this one. Or show Zoom's excellent Gartner report, or articles describing Zoom's partnership with Sequoia capital. It's not difficult to show how Zoom is a trustworthy industry leader with best-in-class technology.
Simply put, FWi outperforms just about any other software solution by being more adaptable and more reliable, while being competitively priced for its class (top shelf). It's not as cheap as using "free" signage software that's in the cloud, or built into display screens (LG), but if you plan on doing more than running slides and you plan on doing it in multiple locations and screens, this is the platform to do it on - especially if your venues and needs vary across the network.
I find Slido a bit easier to use than Poll Everywhere and other live polling software that I've used. While other software offers similar features, I've found that Slido's setup is a bit more intuitive and makes it easier to duplicate polls you've made for reuse. You get the most bang for your buck with Slido's basic plan compared to other polling software's basic tier.
Zoom Workplace is typically on the more expensive end against other options, but it's the industry leader for a reason. It has the most brand credibility by far, but that doesn't mean it's perfect. There are limitations when it comes to technical performance, customization and video/audio quality. I prefer Slack myself for communication apps, but Zoom Workplace is a good alternative.
The billing and price model is really fair for so many functions that they offer, our remote work requires each of the features that Zoom offers, so accepting payment for a tool like this is the least we can do. I like that billing arrives on time and that they offer opportunities and payment times.
Because the Basic licenses are completely free, and because it's very easy to configure and install Zoom, and because anyone can join Zoom from a link without needing an account, scaling is a Breeze. There are absolutely no roadblocks. My company keeps adding more Zoom Pro license every week since it's so in demand. We were able to convert users from several different platforms onto Zoom with no trouble at all.
Zoom is perfect for our business. We use it to video chat with prospective clients. The name recognition alone gives us credibility and it is very easy to screen share and send content out.
Slido helped us increase student engagement which resulted in improved academic results for our students
The Q&A feature helped us answer questions we received from parents and audeince during live events which resulted in increased admissions in our educational institution
The gamification of polls and surveys helped us attract a lot of audience and made the meetings interactive
We have not lost much productivity in our teamwork during the pandemic because of the ability to have Zoom video calls and keep everyone in touch. This is definitely a positive.
We are able to have more people participate in coaching sessions (described earlier) because we don't have room space limitations. This is a big positive.
Being able to start a meeting instantly is great when we are doing support and/or training with a client over the phone and need to be able to share a visible
