Cisco WebEx Support Lost My Support
Overall Satisfaction with Zoom
We currently use Zoom for coaching sessions with our employees. We have coaching sessions that are focused on groups with specific roles in the company (for example, sales and marketing). We also have coaching sessions every other month for the whole company to participate in. These coaching sessions are for personal development training and used to be in-person sessions prior to the COVID-19 pandemic. Now that we have done these online with Zoom for two years, I don't foresee us as a company ever going back to doing those in-person again. If so, it will be once or twice a year, with the other four or five sessions being through Zoom.
Pros
- I love how easy it is to set the focus on the presenter. It is annoying when people don't spotlight themselves as a presenter, so you get to see the whole gallery of attendees in smaller, two-inch windows.
- I like the capability of having break-out rooms. Even though I don't use them very often, it is nice to have them available if the right situation presents itself for smaller group chats.
- The recording quality is better than I have experienced with other products (Microsoft Teams, WebEx, etc.), and the fact that it is already an MP4, so I don't have to convert it for publishing on our intranet is huge to me.
Cons
- I don't know if this exists with Zoom in a Zoom Room environment, but the use of what Microsoft refers to as Content Cameras would be nice (maybe it already exists).
- Assigning people as co-host exists is a great feature, but I haven't been able to control mute/unmute for other attendees. I don't know if this is supposed to be a feature or if I haven't been given access, I don't know.
- I have yet to see how to take control of another's computer, so if this functionality doesn't exist, it would be nice to add.
- Background & Filters (it may seem funny to have this as one of the most important features, but you would be surprised at our company.
- Zoom Room capabilities.
- Instant recording of all meetings.
- The new Apps feature can't be called the most important yet, but I know a lot of co-workers that are excited to use it for team challenges when taking a break from projects.
- We have not lost much productivity in our teamwork during the pandemic because of the ability to have Zoom video calls and keep everyone in touch. This is definitely a positive.
- We are able to have more people participate in coaching sessions (described earlier) because we don't have room space limitations. This is a big positive.
- Being able to start a meeting instantly is great when we are doing support and/or training with a client over the phone and need to be able to share a visible
Zoom is more equally stacked with Microsoft Teams because Microsoft has been playing catch-up for the last few months. I think that overall I have less latency with Zoom than I do with Teams, but other than that, I don't see much difference between the two anymore.
Zoom is much better to use than WebEx and is definitely more secure. I also get better support from just about everything with Zoom over WebEx.
