QuickBooks Online is an accounting software package that allows companies to use a cost-effective and efficient software package. QuickBooks Online allows companies to prepare their balance sheets and income statements. It connects with a variety of other applications, which …
Core functionality : While QuickBooks Online (QB) is an accounting software Rippling is more designed for payroll and offers a lot of solutions. It integrates IT, HR and employee management in one application. (QB wasn't able to provide this feature at the cost that Rippling …
I love how Rippling integrates with QuickBooks Online! Each payroll in Rippling shows up in my QBO sync. It is great to have all the details of each payroll by individual. We are a small private school, so we have about 50 employees, but the Rippling journal entry is about 500 …
Rippling is a lot less finnicky and more intuitive than Emburse, and has much better UX. The Emburse website stressed me out much more frequently than the Rippling website does, it's a considerable improvement. The Rippling customer service team is also much better - they're …
Rippling is easier to use and the payroll comparison is a real benefit. Paychex did not have a system for tracking PTO, annual leave, etc., but Rippling handles it well.
We switched from Gusto to Rippling and I wish we would've done it years ago. Rippling is so much more robust than Gusto and has made the lives of our HR team and each of our employees so much easier! I'd recommend Rippling over Gusto to every organization without any hesitation.
Rippling blows all the rest of the payroll providers out of the water! The ease of use for employees to update info, and the reports that you can get from Rippling surpass any other payroll service provider
Rippling is the perfect balance between a PEO and a standalone payroll system. They have all the functions, features and support that a company needs, but allows the user (company) the flexibility to utilize the system with control. Other systems were missing this feature, …

with quick books online, the company experiences severe limitations with respect to so little as time and attendance management, since the platform had complex and difficult-to-use interface, requiring users to click through multiple screens to enter timesheet records for each …
Rippling beats Gusto on a few things. Rippling is more suited for growing and scaling a remote team in different states from a pricing perspective. Rippling does customer support significantly better than Gusto and is staffed with agents with technical backgrounds who can help …
This was the previous program my company used before switching to Rippling. Rippling is a massive improvement. I didn't personally select Rippling, but I'm glad my employer did because it's made things so much easier. Not just for features, but the UI is great. Previous …
I hated QuickBooks because it was hard to keep track of time off and not user friendly at all. Rippling is very easy to use as this is my first time using this platform, I didn't need a walk through at all when I came on board.
Rippling seemed to align more with where we wanted to go as an organization than the other software options that we reviewed as part of the selection process. Rippling is continuing to expand their product offerings and it already connects with a number of apps. I really feel …
Rippling seemed to be much more user friendly. In speaking with fellow business owners, many of the other payroll companies I looked into had poor customer service reviews, and the costs were much higher than Rippling. I also am pleased that Rippling offers much more than …
Ramp is a standalone spend, so they are more robust and the "free" model they use is better in my opinion. The rewards are higher and no associated fee with module.
Only reviewed them online. I didn't do any live demos like I did for Rippling.

Rippling is a lot friendlier to use by our company's employees. Requesting time off is simple and approving time off by managers is quick. On the admin side, rippling reports allow more customization to help with our capacity planning and headcount analysis. Overall, Rippling …
QBO is a great solution for small and midsize companies. If the goal is to record all transactions and pull reliable financial reports, QBO is a great option. QBO is also a great solution if most operations are run in a system like Ramp. It syncs well with systems like that and turns the data into something management can use to make decisions. QBO is great because so many people use it. It is easy to find training online, and many people have experience with it.
Rippling is extremely user friendly an allows our employees to help themselves in a lot of areas that previously required HR team assistance. Three areas I feel are not well suited for our organization is the inability to reset passwords manually, allocation of hours, and the software's inability to spot a rehire with a new application. We have several associates who moonlight/pick up shifts at other locations. This is infrequent so it woudn't make sense to allocate a percentage of their time to the properties where they're moonlighting. When we manually allocate those hours to the receiving property, the allocations do not take effect on the back end for our accounting department. It's creating a lot of journal entries and back-end corrections in our Accounting software. When it comes to applications, we have a new Director of Talent Acquisition who is not familiar with every previously-hired associate. This has caused duplication of profiles when we rehire an associate. If the DoTA isn't familiar with the associate and hires them in the "talent" portion of the website, it creates a new profile for them rather than recognizing their duplicated information (such as SSN or passport number). This has caused us to end up with dupliate profiles for several rehires. The system is very tech-y it should allow us to either merge the profiles or cause a notification/error to alert the hiring person that this associate/new hire is a rehire. Our previous software (UKG) was able to do this.
Workflows for accounts payable invoice review are terrific.
Bill payment allows you to pay vendors online via ACH or check without having to write a physical check, which reduces admin time.
The cloud based login lends well to a remote or hybrid work environment for staff.
QuickBooks Online allows you to pre-configure vendors' general ledger expense accounts. This helps with general ledger coding accuracy and consistency.
QuickBooks Online integrates with Rippling HRIS, Coast, Capital One, JPMorgan Chase, etc., which lends well to an efficient month-end closing and reduced administrative time.
I dislike that the online bill pay option through QuickBooks is required for their invoicing.
The auto-fill portion of the customer setup, specifically the company name, is listed, but it also auto-fills in the name portion, which is inconvenient and time-consuming to remove.
The overall look and feel of Rippling is dated; it looks like it's straight out of the 00's.
The could be more functionality in the LMS, expanded features, more options, it works, and it's basic, but it could be really great with a few added features.
The shift from using people's personal email to log in to their work email, not everyone wants to use their personal information to log into a work system.
It like the product 'right out of the box' and I trust Intuit will continually improve it over the years based on my experience with their desktop products. The large providers of Apps makes customizing the entire package relatively easy and seamless for a wide variety of business types.
The AI assistant has always been able to direct me to the correct solution to any question i have about Rippling. Payroll is so easy, it takes about 10 minutes to go through the process.
Beyond being overkill for a small org's needs, QBO is constantly stealing screen real estate and attention by hammering users for account upgrades, connecting to one of their approved consultants or buying add-ons. The idea of using a simple configurable bookeeping and light accounting interface is completely missing. At the very least, we should be able to hide functions like inventory that we will never use.
Very intuitive, user-friendly, and modern interface that doesn't make you cringe when you have to access it for anything. The admin navigation is easier compared to our previous system, and doesn't feel like a maze of complicated jargon. On the user side, the benefits enrollment process was a breeze, and felt so much more informative and efficient. Accessing the benefits post-enrollment is also very straightforward.
I like that the availability in using Rippling at any given time is useful to me. Getting on the site freely when I need gives me security of knowing that I can be in control of viewing health insurance and hours information. I have yet to get any errors in using the Rippling app.
Rippling's performance has been great, no errors or glitches yet so far. I am confident that Going from one page to the next and all its complexity usage does not lag or times out, it works effectively and efficiently. While using Rippling and other apps it does not tend to slow it down, works great. No complaints.
In my experience, most representatives keep me on the phone for hours, literally, for a single issue and then usually cannot resolve it satisfactorily. I have 10 open cases that need resolution and, in my experience, there has been NO follow-up communication on any of them.
The highlight of my customer support experience was my first interaction with them: I had a small issue with my birthdate, and it was fixed very quickly—on the same day. It's pretty incredible to have things like that sorted out in the same day, which is a rare thing to see lately.
The person in charge of QB needs to be very accurate with record keeping and is recommended to stay on top of tasks. The biggest issue we have is reconciliation, and those issues occur only when too much time has occurred between reconciliations
It's really easy to implement in comparison to other tools or applications. Different key points are easily configured and implemented as per need, having different configurations in systems. Implementation is something which binds the different parameters of an organization in a single row. Implementation of rippling is much easier, quicker, and error free than any other software. I recommend it strongly!
As a freelance bookkeeper, the Desktop version of QuickBooks Online doesn't allow for ease of access from any device. Having to be on a computer with the software downloaded creates additional work to gain access to all required filings etc. Also, I personally find the linking functionality on the Online version to be much more streamlined and user friendly.
We chose Rippling primarily based on cost and feature set available. As a small organization, budget is a high priority. Rippling gave us enterprise-level features at an affordable cost for an early stage start up. We appreciate that we have the opportunity to expand our feature set within Rippling as our business and workforce grow.
As we have grown along our professional path, we have also expanded our use of QB. The scalability is easy and features seem to be waiting for you until you need them. We have increased profits by over 10x from our first year in business to the current and have yet to find a reason to look elsewhere
I can go on here and see all my hours and pto plus health benefits. I like to have the work handbook handy to refer to legal things. How to work my role within it's limits. Being able to put in my hours and view when they are approved is a huge benefit for me.
QuickBooks has given us a useful portal by which to get an overview of our financials.
QuickBooks has given us a relatively easy way to send out invoices quickly and efficiently.
Due to the customization limitations on QuickBooks, we've had to get creative in third-party implementations to better represent our brand and to track financials.
Our HR team used to spend almost three days doing payroll calculations before Rippling. This platform has cut that time down by 75%! Now they can devote the time they would've spent on payroll to other important tasks.
Rippling saves employees time by making time-tracking less of a headache.
Rippling has so many so many services that it's essentially a one-stop-shop for centralized HR solutions!
