What is Archie?

Archie is a solution for offices and shared workspaces around the globe, offering a suite of tools including meeting room and desk booking, visitor management, coworking management software and workspace planning and analytics.

The solution is tailored to all organizations, from small businesses to large enterprises, and the feature set includes: visual floor plans, employee lookup, visitor logs, check-in and check-out tracking, meeting room scheduling, desk booking, seat assignment, multi-location management, smart automations, real-time notifications, office capacity tracking, branded mobile and tablet apps, SSO and SCIM support, and an open API.

Archie also integrates with productivity tools (like Slack, Teams, and Google Calendar), physical access systems (including Kisi, Brivo, Salto, and others), payment processors (like Stripe and Gocardless), accounting software (such as QuickBooks and Xero), WiFi networks (like Cisco, Ubiquiti, Aruba, and more), and other platforms.

Archie presents a solution for room and desk bookings, hybrid work environments, visitor management to enhance compliance and efficiency, and can be used to expand a coworking business.

Happy we implemented Archie for managing desk booking

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use it for both desk hoteling and visitor sign in. It solves the issue of people showing up and not having a place to work, especially now that we downsized our physical footprint.

Pros

  • The live map view is super helpful for finding people.
  • Visitor check-in looks very professional on the iPad.
  • Integrates well with our Google Calendar.

Cons

  • I wish there were more options for different resources beyond offices, desks, rooms instead of listing the rest under "Resources".

Return on Investment

  • It has saved our office manager hours of manual scheduling. We also cut down on unused desk space by seeing the actual usage data.

We use Archie in a flexible office where desks and meeting spaces are shared across teams.

Pros

  • Flexible and easy to use booking system
  • It's awesome that it integrates with all Microsoft products so you can run it from those
  • Helpful support team, the few times I interacted they were amazing

Cons

  • Definitely wish there were additional customization options on the different resource booking flows

  • Reduced admin workload significantly + improved visibility for all teams on office schedules.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Archie is used daily by most of my team here both for desk booking and for receiving guests that occasionally come to the office.

Pros

  • My favorite thing is being able to see the upcoming schedule of the entire team, it's a feature we didn't have 6 months ago and it's great
  • Good mobile experience on their app, super quick to book
  • Seems very reliable, never had issues with it

Cons

  • Some UI elements could be improved, especially on web
  • There is a bit of learning curve the very first time you use it

Return on Investment

  • Reduced manual coordination of office days (when someone works from home vs the office vs a coworking space) and overall I think it improved efficiency.

We use Archie across desks, rooms, and also to register visitors at the front desk. It helps coordinate home and office days and ensures everyone can easily reserve space before coming in.

Pros

  • Easy desk booking via app or Teams
  • Outlook calendar sync by default
  • Some visibility into office usage, team attendance, etc.

Cons

  • More customizable reporting would turn Archie into be a proper workforce tool and not just a booking platform
  • Some admin setup takes time the first time you implement it

Return on Investment

  • It improved how we organize office attendance, which in our case differs depending on the team, and also I'd say our office space is generally more organized in general (think visitor notifications or meeting rooms).

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Our teams use Archie mainly to reserve desks and check who will be in the office on a given day. Different departments coordinate their in-office schedules using the platform.

Pros

  • Quick desk booking from the mobile app.
  • Filters for desk equipment like monitors or quiet areas.
  • Easy colleague search to see where teammates are sitting.

Cons

  • It would be helpful to quickly rebook the same desk used previously.
  • The desk map sometimes loads slowly early in the morning when many people are booking.

Return on Investment

  • It has made hybrid coordination much easier and removed the need for spreadsheets or Slack messages about who is coming into the office.
