JMP, widely used in various industries such as engineering, marketing, semiconductor manufacturing, and life science, has proven to be a valuable tool for data analysis. Users have praised JMP for its user-friendly interface and ease of use in performing statistical analysis and manipulating data. This software is extensively employed for efficient design of experiments, experimental data analysis, visualization, and statistical analysis.

One of the standout features of JMP is its ability to create large amounts of graphs, including complex 3D graphs. These visualizations are highly appreciated by users who need to analyze and present data in a clear and interactive manner. Additionally, JMP finds applications in analyzing human resources data like turnover and salary reviews. It is also utilized by biotech companies to track real-time production data, quantify failures, and track efficiencies.

Furthermore, JMP is widely used in universities for meaningful statistical analyses and powerful visualization capabilities. It plays a significant role in Six Sigma and Lean programs for process optimization and formulation. In addition to that, JMP has been found useful for product evaluation, discovery, and analyzing large volumes of manufacturing data.

  • JMP has resulted in literally millions of dollars in ROI due to identification of correctable errors.
  • Use of JMP control charts JMP has greatly simplified and improved interpretation of Lean, FMEA, and PDSA type analyses.
  • Use of JMP has enable the testing and subsequent selection of 'best practices' saving uncounted hours in false starts based on 'collective experience'.
  • The down side is that JMP is not a 'magic box', one still has to take care in applying the tools properly. Moreover, time-consuming approaches using JMP may still be the 'order of the day', because the service (even power user) is unaware of significant shortcuts available for free on the JMP community website.

  • It saved our time in processing the data, so our ROI was good on that.
  • We get detailed results very easily, SO we hired a few statisticians and basic programmers. Rather full team of data scientists.

  • ROI: Even if the cost can be high, the insights you get out of the tool would definitely be much more valuable than the actual cost of the software. In my case, most of the results of your analysis were shown to the client, who was blown away, making the money spent well worth for us.
  • Potential negative: If you are not sure your team will use it, there's a chance you will just waste money. Sometimes the IT department (usually) tries to deploy a better tool for the entire organization but they keep using the old tool they are used too (most likely MS Excel).

  • JMP has sped up almost all of the report-outs we were creating from Excel. Once the script is written, you won't have to do anything besides update your database(s).
  • JMP really makes you concatenate column information. It definitely makes everything faster as soon as you understand how to organize your initial data table.
  • Some graphs from Excel (especially time to survival) are quite difficult to censor and separate multivariate data, so you probably won't be able to get rid of Excel completely.

  • The positive impact from using JMP is that it help visualize the data set, which can be easily assessed and understood by others who may not be in my field or area of expertise.
  • JMP script is helpful since it streamline the data report, and made the data analysis process more efficient and much faster.
  • One feedback I got was that JMP jrn lost its interactive when convert to other format. It would nice that jrn can be opened by other mainstream popular software.

  • Analyzing models from DOE with JMP has allowed more robust product design. I'm not at liberty to give the specific numbers, but the difference was significant
  • Numerous times we have been spared the lost resources of pursuing a problem that was NOT statistically justified by being able to show the data
  • With the visualization capabilities of JMP we reported rigorous testing from our R&D lab and were able to convince board members of a necessary process change that was previously held up, not from lack of data, but from excess emotion.
