Redtail CRM serves as an essential customer relationship database for our entire firm, providing efficient data mining and organization capabilities. It has become a crucial tool for tracking and managing the entire process from leads to clients, ensuring that all employees are aware of the progress being made. By utilizing Redtail CRM, we are able to stay on top of important tasks and deadlines, eliminating the risk of forgetting any crucial steps. The software excels at keeping records of multi-step processes handled by multiple individuals, allowing us to easily track notes from meetings and phone calls. Additionally, Redtail's ability to create workflows for repeated tasks streamlines our operations, making it an invaluable asset.

One of the primary use cases for Redtail CRM is storing client information in a convenient and easily accessible format. We rely on this software to keep detailed records of documents such as contracts and agreements, enabling us to quickly retrieve them when needed. Furthermore, the email archive function in Redtail ensures compliance with regulations by providing easy access to all emails exchanged with each client. This centralized location for client interactions and information allows advisors to efficiently document important details and keep track of the information obtained from the tools and services provided to clients. In addition, Redtail CRM offers impressive integration capabilities, seamlessly connecting with custodians and other software to provide high-level client information. Overall, Redtail CRM is regarded as one of the best-engineered and user-friendly tools in the financial technology industry due to its extensive use cases and exceptional integration capabilities.

  1. Explore alternatives such as WealthBox and PreciseFP for practice management tools. Also, consider researching on the Kitces website.

  2. Try the trial version of Redtail CRM before committing to it. It is important to get proper training and watch tutorial videos to maximize the use of its features.

We use Redtail to manage all client interactions both on the financial and insurance sides of the business. It is incredibly useful for tracking notes from meetings or phone calls though it truly excels at keeping records of multi-step processes that are handled by many people. The ability to create workflows for normal repeated tasks is excellent.
  • Note taking.
  • Workflows and automation for clients.
  • Record keeping for accounts.
  • Linking of notes to specific accounts, events or people.
  • If I had to think of something I'd like to see improved it would be further expansion of integrations, they already have many and are continuing to add all the time so I'm sure before long even this won't be a valid complaint!
It is extremely well suited to client management in the insurance and financial services industries. I think it would not be nearly as useful in a retail setting as many of the features would be irrelevant.
  • Activities
  • Workflows
  • Integrations with other Tech.
  • Ability to link notes to just about anything else.
  • The cost is well worth it, similar systems are much more expensive at the 3-10 license price point and this has more than enough function for my uses.
  • The amount of time saved on repeated tasks using workflows is huge.
  • The ability to house all client interaction information in one place is priceless.

We use Redtail CRM primarily to keep client info stored in a handy format and to be able to store documents related to each client, such as contracts and other agreements, in a format in which those documents are readily accessible. We also use the email archive function in order to remain compliant with regulations concerning storage of electronic communications. We are able to easily access all emails to and from each client in this manner. Redtail CRM is used across our entire organization and is accessible by all employees.
  • Redtail CRM gives the capability to have a place to store all client-related documents in a readily accessible, yet secure, location.
  • Redtail CRM has a feature to input notes and comments on particular clients in order to keep track of communications with and steps taken for those clients. Those notes can be easily accessed across the firm.
  • Redtail CRM allows all email communications to be stored in a safe and secure manner as well as making those communications accessible on demand.
  • I honestly cannot think of any issues or concerns that I have had with Redtail in the five years that I have been using it.
Redtail CRM is extremely well-suited as a resource in which to keep track of and manage clients. It is not as efficient; however, as Constant Contact for example, in that it, at least to my knowledge, does not have a means in which mass emails can be sent to clients. As an overall client relation management tool though, it is fantastic.
  • Email storage for compliance purposes
  • Document storage in a secure yet easily accessible location
  • The ability to store client-related info, such as birthdays, names of spouses, and other personal information, in a readily accessible format.
  • The number one positive impact that Redtail CRM has had is that it has enabled us to cancel our previous email storage subscription, which was very inefficient, and replace with a means to store client communications such as emails.
We actually use both Redtail CRM and Constant Contact. Constant Contact is primarily for sending out client emails while Redtail CRM is primarily the way that we store client information and related documents for easy access. We are very happy with both Redtail CRM and with Constant Contact, for different reasons in that we use each one differently.
