Overall Satisfaction with ActiveCampaign
I rely on ActiveCampaign for all areas of the business, from marketing and CRM to subscription management. ActiveCampaign really does a fantastic job of keeping the kind of running records of customer contacts and interactions in a way that not only provides "number crunchable" data but also offers remarkable insights into the specifics of individual customer actions and preferences.
- List Segmentation - With ActiveCampaign you get lots of options for list segmentation, including lists, tags and custom fields. Whether you're trying to beef up a marketing automation sequence or needing to respond to a special case situation on the fly, the capabilities here make your work a lot easier!
- Marketing Automation - ActiveCampaign provides an easy-to-use flowchart system for creating and editing marketing automations. It tremendously enhances the overall power of this system.
- Email Campaign Management - ActiveCampaign does a great job scheduling and sending out email campaigns to designated lists. Deliverability is particularly strong, and it's easy to track opens and clicks for specific contacts as well as for lists as a whole.
- ActiveCampaign is so powerful and so versatile that it can sometimes be a challenge to use. There are certainly plenty of online resources available to help you get up to speed, but there are times when the process can seem a little overwhelming. I got a lot of help by attending a "Study Hall" in-person classroom session that was sponsored by the company. Chris Davis was the instructor; he did an amazing job of clarifying priorities and procedures for getting the most out of ActiveCampaign. After going to that session my productivity with ActiveCampaign increased enormously, but in retrospect, I felt like I should have been able to get that kind of expert guidance with the software much earlier, instead of using ActiveCampaign at far less than its maximum capability for several years before feeling like I was really getting my feet on the ground.
- There doesn't seem to be a way to create or accommodate multiple email addresses for a single contact in the system. When people get into the system with multiple email addresses, they show up as multiple contacts. This can create problems with proper list segmentation; it should be easy enough to resolve this problem, but it's a nagging headache whenever it pops up.
- It has brought simplicity and accountability to customer relationship strategies that have paid off in increased sales opportunities.
- It has integrated wonderfully with other components of our production and marketing systems, creating a synergistic effect that consistently shows up in the bottom line.
- It has provided unexpectedly in-depth insights into customer behavior. This has led to a much richer understanding of the sales cycles we're working with, bringing big benefits in helping us refine our overall marketing and retention strategies.
We had a brief and very disappointing relationship with Infusionsoft a few years ago. They struggled in vain trying to get an API properly configured so that we could move data through one of our flagship web sites. After about half a dozen fruitless iterations, they gave up, we canceled our contract, and we went our separate ways.
With ActiveCampaign, however, integration has never been a significant problem. Just being able to USE the software obviously makes a big difference! We've also been consistently pleased with the capabilities and support provided by ActiveCampaign. And it's much, much less expensive than Infusionsoft as well.

No - I've not paid for premium support with ActiveCampaign because I've always felt well taken care of whenever I've submitted a support request through the usual channels. The training and personal help provided by Chris Davis has been extremely helpful—feeling supported by his ongoing efforts makes dealing with ActiveCampaign worthwhile by itself!
I view the excellent educational program that the company provided in their Study Hall presentation as an extension of the support service. In my view support is not just solving problems when they occur - it's developing knowledge and strategies that can help prevent problems in the first place. That was certainly exemplified by Education Director Chris Davis during the Study Hall I attended about four months ago. He is a superb teacher and did a full day of presentation that provided exceptional clarity and direction. Then, after the sessions were officially over he stayed (even though obviously exhausted) to provide me with some extra one-on-one help in resolving some issues that I was struggling with. This willingness to go the extra mile in face-to-face contact is extraordinary. In the best of all possible worlds, marketing, education, and support are essentially one and the same thing, and that's what I've found in working with ActiveCampaign!
