Overall Satisfaction with ADP Workforce Now

We use ADP Workforce Now for payroll processes, W-2s, and tax reporting. We have both weekly payroll and and monthly salaried payroll. It is used mostly by the Financial & Accounting Departments in our company. Employees use the self-service to review their pay stubs and make any personal changes. It was a relief to use ADP Workforce Now for tax purposes for payroll as they have experts who have the time and expertise to get them done on a timely basis for us.
  • Excellent support when you are stuck.
  • The hours they are open work great in relation to when we need to contact them with issues.
  • You can make additional payroll schedules without assistance. No waiting.
  • Multiple garnishments: When initially set up, you don't have enough to provide for employees who have multiple garnishments throughout the years, percentage and flat amounts.
  • If an employee has two percentages coming out--one for 10 and the other for 15--you need to have some sort of warning to let the employer know if the second garnishment won't be taken out.
  • We don't have to buy payroll checks any more, which has been a HUGE savings.
  • We have insisted that all employees use direct deposit or use ADP Aline cards--less hassle for us.
  • The change of Aline cards to Wisely was a small challenge. I was not able to answer their questions, but fortunately they had the same 800 number to call and get answers they needed.
They have made several changes within the 5-6 years we have been using this service. Each update has been an improvement in streamlining the product and making it more user-friendly. They continue to be available to ask any questions and are never condescending. The team at ADP makes doing payroll a pleasure.
  • TimeClock Plus: This system is how each employee clocks in with their key fob. We can import this information into ADP Workforce Now.
  • We have realized ADP does not change clock time to regular hours. We have had to make a change in the file we export to ADP.
This integration was not difficult at all. ADP guided us on what was necessary to create our payroll data file to match with ADP Workforce Now. It's a very smooth operation.
We use NetSuite for accounting, financials, and sales. We used to use it for payroll. Then they were going force us to use their outside service to do our payroll. We went shopping and found ADP Workforce Now to be the best quality at the best price. We haven't regretted the decision at all.

The majority of time they are very helpful. But on rare occasions we have worked with Customer Service personnel who were not as knowlegeable as they should have been, or else they should have escalated the case/question to their supervisor to get us the correct answers.
I believe ADP Workforce Now is well suited to all types of employers, no matter the size. The help in preparing payroll, doing taxes, and setting up accounts is great. Those I have talked to over the phone have always been helpful and professional. The deadline given to submit payroll is very easy to meet.

COVID-19 Response

Whenever there was a new development with COVID-19 that affected payroll, payroll taxes and employees, ADP Workforce Now was excellent in providing us with information that was timely and needed. ADP Workforce Now would highlight that new information was available as soon as anyone logged in so they would be aware of any changes.
No. Our company used other banking institutions to get PPL Loans and PPL loan forgiveness. The information from ADP Workforce now regarding these loans was helpful so we didn't go into negotiations for these loans blind.
We have not used these resources. Our business has declined greatly due to COVID-19 as we are working with schools. Schools are still questionable on how they are thriving - either using zoom at home or part time in school learning. Our staff is approximately 1/4 of what it would normally be at this time. People are coming to us asking for jobs instead of us having to search for them.
Yes. More employees now can view their payroll deposits and print out what is needed. This greatly frees us my time and HR's in letting the employees do this on their own.

Using ADP Workforce Now

3 - Weekly payroll for hourly employees, Monthly payroll for salaried employees, Overall review of personnel, payroll taxes, garnishments, New hires, lay offs, rehires, terminations, ADP (Wisely) card disbursement.
3 - Very detail oriented people. Good with numbers. Accuracy is a must. Good computer and keyboard skills. Ability to learn quickly and adapt as new changes are made to ADP Workforce. Able to communicate well with others. When encountering problems with ADP Now, able to call and find the solution needed.
  • Payroll calculation - done by ADP with no errors
  • Payroll taxes - handled completely by ADP. HUGE time saver.
  • W-2's done completely by ADP - another HUGE time saver.
  • QuickCalc. Able to calculate taxes for a check before processing. Helps with severance and bonus checks. Can do the check through AP then use Manual Check to put in following week's payroll. No need to wait.
  • When our organization went through a change in ownership, ADP was able to make the transfer of all employees and their information to another company code. It was done quickly and with great efficiency.
  • Check date of those on "lay off" to see if they should be terminated in the system.
I use it everyday already. But I see the possibilities of using ADP Workforce Training to upgrade my use of it.

The price was the ultimate factor. We had reviewed several payroll services. ADP gave us the best price. I was already sold on their reliability by their reputation alone.
I don't think we would have done anything different. We have been very pleased with ADP over the last 5 years.
