Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use BigCommerce for our main retail website and a clothing brand that we also own. When we compared the platform to other leading ecommerce solutions, BigCommerce won with better SEO benefits and more manageable options included with the platform.

Scalability

There aren't any restrictions when used by different departments. It's mainly used by marketing and customer service and the user profiles can be controlled by the admin with permissions set for what staff can and can't do.

BigCommerce Customization

We use APIs to integrate with our back office stock control and shipping solution. Stock levels are updated and orders exported almost in realtime so handling speed and efficiency is improved and customers are happy.

Alternatives Considered

Shopify Plus and WooCommerce

When we compared BigCommerce to Shopify Plus, we found that BigCommerce had better SEO benefits available without needing an additional paid app to control it. We were also able to manage listings and orders more efficiently with better value for money. Shopify Plus offered similar solutions but they also charged per payment taken which was much higher than BigCommerce who offer many different payment solutions. This allows you to get the best prices talking directly to the providers. Without this option from BigCommerce, Shopify would have cost us 3 times as much. As for WooCommerce, their platform was out performed for loading speed and security with BigCommerce winning hands down.

Likelihood to Recommend

The support offered is very good with email, live chat and telephone options available. We tend to use email to log any support queries and compared to many other platforms they have proven to be the best at addressing any issues with most sorted within 24hrs. When something is urgent we pick up the phone and if they can't fix the problem there and then, they do get back to us with a fix or a work around solution to help us keep trading.
