Overall Satisfaction with ClickUp
As a small growing company with some employees working remotely, we needed a system that provided transparency and accountability for projects we work on as teams.
ClickUp initially provided the following benefits:
ClickUp initially provided the following benefits:
- Task Management for individual contributors as well as collaboration on team projects.
- Visibility to Management regarding task/project status we became more comfortable with its use.
Pros
- Easily create tasks from a single click using a browser extension.
- Various dashboard options to display tasks.
- Easy to update status to show task progression.
Cons
- The interface for selecting specific times associated with dates feels a bit clumsy.
- Found that some users had status labels with the same name, but were treated as different statuses - this caused confusion.
- We want to use ClickUp for more documentation (individual as well as a company KB) but haven't found the interface engaging for most users.
- Managers no longer need to inquire about the status of various tasks - it is easy to see at a glance.
- New employees come up to speed more quickly because checklists are added to repetitive tasks. The steps remind them what to do next and ensure all steps are followed.
We have added workers from different states. Collaboration is done remotely. Tasks are online, so everyone knows the status, which cuts down on meetings. When we do have internal meetings - especially if they are reoccurring meetings - those are now scheduled via ClickUp.
Previously we used Slack and some other tools to collaborate. ClickUp has replaced those tools (although it could also work in conjunction with them). ClickUp is able to do many functions that would normally require additional tools. The ability to add your own fields makes ClickUp able to replace a CRM or perhaps smaller Support Desk applications. As an organization, we have only scratched the surface of what ClickUp is able to do, and are now looking at opportunities to make additional use of the tool.
Before selecting ClickUp, we looked at some other providers in the space. Some of our management team had used Monday in the past. Asana was a contender for a while, but in the end, we found ClickUp to be more feature-rich and cost-effective - a better fit for our particular needs.
One concern we had was user adoption. Many of our workers have not had experience with these types of tools and I wasn't sure if they would embrace the tool. My fears were unfounded. ClickUp has become an indispensable tool in our company. The users love it. We made the right choice.
