Overall Satisfaction with ClickUp
ClickUp is used to actively manage multiple plans within a larger program. It enables real-time project management against activities, collaborative working, and easy roll-ups into Programme Plans. It's intuitive, responsive, easy to use, and allows for the same data to be presented in a number of ways - combining the best of other project tools out there into one single tool. It will always be my project planning tool of choice.
- Presenting data in various views. Switching between views is quick and simple.
- Very visual tool, with different colours to differentiate tasks, or view them together.
- Easy to export into friendly pdf and xls files, as well as importing tasks quickly.
- Some options are only visible on some views. It would be great if they were all available on all views.
- Secondary sorting, e.g. sorting a gantt chart by start date, then by task name.
- Integrated backup of a plan at a point in time.
- Project Manager can manage project with fewer project support support.
- Projects run more efficiently. When I offer my services as a project manager, I allow for at least 20% more time to be required when ClickUp cannot be used.
- Giving clients/suppliers access to real-time shared plans removes the 'plan alignment' activity which is required to keep separate plans in sync.
Plans are shared with clients and/or suppliers. This ensures that everyone is working on a single, shared, real-time plan. Any changes to the plan ping out notifications to interested parties. It keeps everyone collaborating by increasing transparency and visibility. View-only access to non-active team members ensures they can track and share dependent tasks onto their plans for visibility.
Some processes have been simplified, but currently, there are other factors limiting the wider use of Clickup within the organization.
MS Project is clunky, expensive, hard to share and has limited views. I avoid using MS Project whenever I can!
