Overall Satisfaction with ClickUp

We are a small team, but we manage multiple - on average, 75 - external projects at a time for different clients. At any given time, projects are all in various stages and have individual scopes involving contractors, subs, and more. ClickUp has been a total game-changer for us because it allows us to communicate project status and needs and collaborate on tasks and next steps without spending precious time updating each other in meetings. I'm certain we are a use case outlier, but the platform is malleable, and creating the structure we needed was straightforward once we understood the basics. Task templates and automation are huge timesavers too.

Pros

  • Project Organization.
  • Repeat tasks/flows.
  • Team collaboration/baton passing.

Cons

  • Custom field organization.
  • Task grouping by A THEN B.
  • Relationships are still messy (pun unintended).
  • Task templates, scheduling, workflow, and task automation have helped ensure we don't drop balls or miss deadlines.
  • It has been massively helpful to seamlessly transfer tasks between team members or stages of a project and communicate updates along the way.
  • ClickUp is really versatile: we are somewhat of an outlier use case, and it has been beneficial to our project management, time management, deliverable timing, and overall peace of mind.
Since adopting ClickUp, managing projects, communicating between team members, having a running thread on a project, goal tracking, task hand-off, collaborative work, and a-sync work have all been made easier and more effective.
ClickUp serves as our main hub—it is where anyone can find out what to do, where to find the information they need, or exactly where an internal or external project is at any given time.
Todoist, at least when we were using it, felt more geared toward personal use and task orientation. It did not have the team productivity functionality, automation, task tracking, etc. Airtable is a great database but requires a second system for task management. ClickUp can house our project data and our tasks and relate them seamlessly.

Are you happy with ClickUp's feature set?

Yes

Did ClickUp live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of ClickUp go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy ClickUp again?

Yes

For the past three years, ClickUp has been the cornerstone of our task and project management. It has served us well in many ways, including creating automation that creates tasks based on external project phases and contingencies, communicating updates with our team, and organizing large internal projects. When we first adopted it, the CRM capabilities weren't what we needed, so we opted for a different platform for that. Still, I can't speak to the function now, knowing that the ClickUp team is continually improving their product.
