Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Hootsuite primarily to schedule social media content and also for data reporting.

Pros and Cons

Pros

The platform is very intuitive to use.
One of the few platforms to offer posting straight to stories as a scheduling option.
One of the few platforms to offer carousel scheduling on Instagram.

Cons

Tagging someone has been removed in favour of adding collaborators, when sometimes it would be useful to have both options.
Occasionally posts will be stuck in purgatory even though they have been scheduled ahead of time, and can be up to 10 minutes late when posted via the platform.

Return on Investment

Time savings for scheduling and report data pulling have been very satisfactory.

Usability

This platform is much more intuitive than many others and works satisfactorily while there are places for room for improvement.

Hootsuite is very useful for scheduling across multiple social media channels, especially with the feature that allows you to update copy across different posts within the same scheduled piece of content.

Sprout Social, Later Social and Emplifi Social Marketing Cloud

Hootsuite offered everything we needed at a much more competitive price.
