Overall Satisfaction with Intuit Mailchimp
we use Intuit Mailchimp as our email marketing software and lead generation forms. We are a nonprofit that communicates with our volunteers, clients, ramp applicants, donors, advocates, corporate partners, other service organizations and family members of clients. Our marketing department is a person of one and we needed a robust, easy to use platform to help save time and efficiently and effectively communicate.
Pros
- making sure we dont have duplicate emails
- email design is easy and not clunky
- great templates
- easy automating journeys
Cons
- I wish the social media links default could be set instead of reentering the url each time I use a new template
- I wish there were templates for a nonprofit, like, donation journeys
- id like to have a better high-level view dashboard
- time savings of > 5 hours per week
- consistent subscriber growth every week
- reliable communication platform
Our business is highly localized, and the predictive demographics helps us make sure we are communicating with the right audience. Using tags helps as well as we are able to quickly create segments to get just the right message across. Tags and segements helped decrease unsubs by 75%

The SMS feature is easy to use and handy. The challenge we face is ability to integrate the SMS feature to our volunteer hub platform and automate event reminder emails. Offering pre-built journeys for nonprofits would help us greatly, as opposed to the consumer/ sales journeys. Nonprofits have a different set of best practices and responsibilities than typical for-profit users.
Intuit Mailchimp has been able to scale with us in a way that created zero extra headache or work on our part. Mailchimp is great at matching up newly imported emails with existing emails and thier subscription preferences and tags, so whenever we up date external software during upscaling, our email marketing grows with it. This has been a huge relief for us.
Mailchimp's email marketing is vastly superior to Bloomerang CRM or fundRaising (formerly Qgiv) but Mailchimp will integrate seemlessly to Bloomerang, so every email sent to a constituent will be recorded as a transaction. The email design blocks are much cleaner and easier to use, compared to Salsa Engage that is highly customizable but feels clunky.
