Overall Satisfaction with Mailchimp
Our company’s marketing professionals use Mailchimp to send out email campaigns, mostly for cold outreach and feature updates. we also use it to send out quizlets and interactive standalone modules which we have integrated with outside platforms for. since the primary users are non-technical they tend to rely on myself as a technical assistant for getting automation and integration stuff set up.
- campaign management
- access control
- content development
- automated workflows
- confusing UI
- KPI visibility
- no impact to organic traffic
- difficult to determine deliverability due to bots
- improves marketing productivity
I think hubspot is a lot better for automated emails requiring business logic and more complex requirements, which is generally what i do. however if you are sending out more straightforward email marketing campaigns for a newsletter, product updates, or otherwise already engaged base it might be better for your use case.
it has been difficult to try and keep everything in mailchimp without deferring to another tool. we have a lot of trouble with deliverability and as a small organization we simply do not have the resources to really scale or spend a lot of time on our implementation of the tool.
A/B testing - when it works - is really useful, and i have learned a lot about the nuances of how mailchimps automation and integration features work. I dont think these skills are particularly useful outside of mailchimp and its moreso a “need-to-know” basis.
