Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We used to use Mattermost as a form of team communication and organization. Mattermost is very easy to navigate, everything is self explanatory to use. We primarily used it for chatting internally, teams meetings, discussions and keeping track of different projects.

I did not really use the integration features. We just used Mattermost internally to chat, schedule meetings, take calls, and keep track of projects.

Alternatives Considered

Microsoft Teams

We used to have Mattermost and now we have Microsoft Teams. They are both very similar. Mattermost and Microsoft Teams are both great for communicating internally via calls, chats, meetings, etc. They are also both easy to set up an use. However, the Microsoft Teams mobile app works a bit better. Microsoft Teams also is easy to upload and share files and communicate on shared docs. Teams also integrates well with other apps.

Likelihood to Recommend

I think Mattermost is a great option for a large team. It is easy to send messages, set up a meeting or call internally. It is also great because there are channels you can keep track of different projects with and it is all in once place. However, I did not rate a 10 because even though Mattermost is easy to use, there are sometimes issues with notifications on the mobile app so I do prefer Teams.
