Overall Satisfaction with Mattermost
I use Mattermost mainly for team communication and colabs such as messaging, file sharing, and project management. It's most helpful for file sharing while being remote.
Pros
- Threaded conversations that keeps discussions on specific topics organized and prevent important information from getting lost in a stream of messages.
- Integration with tools like Office 365 for file sharing and collaboration
- clean, intuitive user interface that is easy to navigate
Cons
- Advanced search could be better and it seems a bit slow
- audio and video conferencing tools could be better
- more granular control of notifications
- Improved Communication Efficiency by consolidating all the variety of messaging apps etc
- real-time communication and collaboration has improved the orgs ability to address issues and implement changes rapidly.
- Accelerated decision-making processes, reducing the time required for team approvals and discussions which used to be in back and forth emails.
Because Mattermost has a self-hosting option, it has reduced our team’s risk and given me a control over our data & security. Having the ability to modify & contribute source code has allowed us to customize it to our specific needs and address any concerns more proactively.
