Overall Satisfaction with Miro

I use Miro to visually take notes and problem solve when our normal Microsoft-based systems won't do the trick. Traditional note-taking is very linear and doesn't follow dynamic thought processes. Miro has helped provide a forum for looking past that - created webs, storyboards, and maps that help us think in new and proven ways.
  • Concept mapping
  • Project planning
  • Relationship mapping
  • Journey planning or roadmapping
  • Storyboarding
  • It is still a manual process to figure out the best way to use it. A new user coming in has to have the vision of having to use Miro otherwise it's just another blank canvas that you will use in a linear fashion - even the templates don't help if you don't have the concepts down of how to utilize the tool.
  • I think the tool could be simpler - right now there are a lot of things in the toolbar that is intimidating and can overload a new user. Sometimes I get started and simply leave Miro because there is so much going on and I'm like you know what, I'm just going to take notes in Word or Excel.

We didn't have a formal implementation of Miro.
I didn't experience this as it is a web-based program from my functionality perspective, which I love. Super easy to use and access.
The ability to have Miro open in screen share during meetings and take notes in a dynamic way rather than just capturing linear words on Word has been a gamechanger. I really feel like we are able to think about things in a new way, connect dots that didn't exist before, and engage participants. People have their cameras on and are looking at the whiteboard - not answering other emails.

Do you think Miro delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Miro's feature set?

Yes

Did Miro live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Miro go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Miro again?

Yes

I really didn't compare Miro to other products - it was something I saw someone use in a meeting and loved and saw the need to incorporate into my own meetings. This slowly picked up throughout the organization.
Process mapping and journey mapping are where Miro does really well. Anyone working in experience management or lean process management will love Miro. Anyone who has sat at a wall with sticky notes and yarn will love Miro. Miro replicates that process in the digital world. Roadmapping and project planning also go really well in Miro. It is also one of the best ways to create an org chart without dealing with the rigidity of Microsoft's Charts or Art features, which is so limiting and frustrating. Miro can really be what you need it to be, which is why it works, but its only limitation is that it requires the user to have some of that vision before you start using it.
