Overall Satisfaction with Miro
We use Miro during our team-wide brainstormings and retrospective sessions. Our team is split into different countries, so we use this kind of virtual environment to get together more easily. We also recently started using it for planning sprints in each sub-team such that we can still see the plans of our colleagues in other sub-teams
Pros
- Easy to use
- Idea organization
- Ability to handle well dozens of users at the same time
Cons
- More integration options with monday.com/MS Teams/slack
- Loading seems a bit slow when the whiteboard gets large
- Transmit better everyone's ideas in the team to the rest of members.
- More awareness of the issues/worries from other members
- Shorter meetings
We mostly have used template-free charts for brainstorming and planning. For example making a table where every row belongs to a sub-team, and every person from that sub-team puts there their tasks using sticky notes. We color-code the notes based on the current status of the task, and add arrows if necessary to indicate dependencies or relationships between tasks.
We concurrently use monday.com and Miro for retrospective meetings. We use the former for keeping track of the ongoing / closed / todo tasks and the latter for the brainstorming phase. The only unfortunate thing is that we haven't figured out a way to automate the transfer of tasks between the two softwares.
Our team does not collaborate with external organizations through Miro, but we use it to bridge the distance gap between the different locations of the members of our team.
The whiteboard from Microsoft Teams is not as responsive and it causes issues when multiple members are editing the same e.g. sticky notes simultaneously. We have also tried the one from monday.com, but it is also not as powerful, and I think it got deprecated eventually.
