Overall Satisfaction with Miro

We use Miro to help solve business problems and help run projects. We might have 2-6 Process Engineers and Change Mgt Professionals on a project plus anywhere from 3 to 20 business SMEs on a project. The best way we have found to collaborate, share information and keep everyone on the same page with transparency is through using Miro boards.

Pros

  • Allows users to contribute to projects and Miro boards 24/7 in all time zones.
  • The notation options on Process Maps is endless, can be comments, notes, stickies, emojis, documents, sketches, cartoons, etc etc.
  • Allows for much creativity and flexibility...but also can keep everyone within a certain standard if that is what you're aiming for.

Cons

  • I know there are some new tools within Miro that allow it to work better with Smartsheet. This is one area we will be advancing into.
  • Wondering if there is an easy way to turn complex Visios into Miro boards with just a few clicks?
  • Can't think of anything else at this time - seems Miro has more features than most teams actually use.
  • Miro was an absolute life saver during the pandemic, when we went from in-person meetings with Brown Papers on an actual wall with live sticky notes --- to all virtual.
  • Miro has improved productivity immensely as all project collaborators can contribute to boards on their time in their time zone - all other users can see the updates and progress in real time.
  • Miro has eliminated the cost and need to email visios that had to be printed on large sheets of paper to be understood. Just simply zoom in on your monitor and edit on the fly.
I started using it right away with not a whole lot of formal training. I viewed a few demos online and attended a few sessions but most of it was "on the fly" and honestly not that hard to figure out! For those that need more - there is plenty of training and help available from Miro.
As stated earlier, our company is in all time zones in the US and and a few assets overseas. Miro makes it easy to share boards with all and get their feedback, comments, and input from anywhere, anytime, 24/7. The chat, note, and notification features make this easy to get others attention as needed.

I did not evaluate other products. I formerly was a heavy user of Visio for Process Mapping which as 100% been replaced with Miro in my company.
Miro can handle complex process mapping, timelines, decision trees, org charts (with pictures!), word, excel and powerpoint files, brainstorming sessions, etc. Our team actually uses a Miro board for our entire internal training plan, including timing, delivery, evaluation, and approvals. Miro is colorful and can brighten up even the most boring of topics. Some actually call it FUN.
