Overall Satisfaction with PagerDuty

We use PagerDuty to manage our 24/7 on-call engineers who get notified by alerts from a variety of incident sources. We also use PagerDuty to manage technical incidents at scale.

  • Engineers and stakeholders are informed on time.
  • Planning is done nearly automatically.
Before we used PagerDuty our alerting wasn't always escalating and needed specific know-how of one guy to fix and maintain. With PagerDuty, team managers but also engineers can plan and handle shifts themselves with ease. Also since then, we've never missed another alert.
With PagerDuty's integration, we easily integrated all our monitoring platforms.
Team managers can use analytics insights to better prioritize tasks and plan capacity.
The feature set is better.
All questions we had were solved quickly and on the spot. We even got detailed information on how to configure our tenant exactly to achieve what we asked for (not just general advice).

PagerDuty is one of the probably best and most mature tools in its area. There are also cheaper alternatives which probably can't do as much as PagerDuty.
