Overall Satisfaction with Paylocity

We use Paylocity for all of our Time & Labor, Payroll, Recruiting, HR, Onboarding, Community, and Performance. It helps me to be able to address all things with the employees relating to Human Resources in one location. I have been able to consolidate everything into one platform.

Pros

  • Time and Labor: Time keeping for hours, vacation, sick, personal time. Easy for our supervisors to review their teams and easy for employees to clock in/out and request time off. Employees are also able to see available time off at a glance.
  • Recruiting allows us to upload jobs to accept applications, post in various job posting venues, send emails and text messages to potential hires, send offer letters and once the applicant has moved to the hire stage it sends it to onboarding for them to digitally fill out all required documents.
  • HR section is a great tool to keep all employees information secure and accessible to supervisors. Employees can upload training documents or schooling that they have completed for supervisors to see.
  • Performance allows us to quarterly reviews, 30 and 90 day reviews, Performance Improvement Plans and the ability to see these on an employee quickly and easily

Cons

  • Over the last 3 years that I have used them, they have made huge improvements. As clients we can send in suggestions for them to improve upon and they take those and use those to gage where to next build out their systems better. They are improving and adding continually.
  • For me the one thing I wish was more fluid is that if we add it in HR that it auto adds it in time and labor. A lot of different areas to put in the same info.
  • For us it has reduced the amount of time spent on paperwork, whether digital or hard copies has been a tremendous improvement. It has pulled everything together in HR so that it is all accessible in one location. Not having to reenter into multiple platforms has reduce human error greatly. It makes it easy for supervisors and employee team members to know where and how to get the needed information required. With all the data it provides we have a better handle on cost and decision making for employees.
Again for us, it has cut down the amount of time needed to do employee processing in every area. It has also provided tools to make talent acquisition easier.
Our employees love community as it allows for people to be recognize on their work anniversaries publicly as well as birthdays. Supervisor can do a shout out for an employee doing a excellent job or going above and beyond.
It is great but it could be simpler in some areas. Again this the having to input information into multiple areas. If they talked to each other and it would auto populate that would be great.
ADP I would never use for multiple reasons, to many to go into. Paycom I would say is a good competitor to Paylocity as it has some great functionality aspects. UKG wasn't real impressed. Has a couple of good points but for me and the way I work overall not practical.
