Overall Satisfaction with Paylocity

We use the full HRMS from Paylocity. Recruiting, onboarding, payroll, performance, learning management, benefits and spending accounts. It is the full package deal that is cost effect and user friendly. We were able to consolidate multiple portals and logins into one resource for our employees.

Pros

  • Seemless recruiting and onboarding process.
  • Easy time management and payroll processing.
  • Provides helpful insights into our employment data.

Cons

  • Paid time off Accruals are frustrating due to being effective only on payroll processing dates.
  • Support tries their best but it can be frustrating being sent between the different support teams.
  • Hand off from implementation was not very instructive. We were note made aware of things we would need to do that were not automated.

Automation tools has allowed us to reduce the number of people working to process payroll saving us time and cost.
We utilize surveys quite regularly. They have been an easy, fast method of getting feedback from staff. We have other community functions disabled due to the risk of inappropriate messaging being sent around.
Paylocity is the most cost-effective system across the board that provides all the same functionality in one place. They also stand out with their service teams being much more readily available than other providers.

Paylocity is a cost-effective system that consolidates all HR functions. There are pain points in all the major systems, but Paylocity minimizes those and has a team that continuously aims for improvement.

Using Paylocity

70 - HR & Accounting are the primary functions. Other users are production for time & labor and managers for recruiting, performance, etc.
2 - The Corporate Controller and Human Resources are the primary administrators of the system. This is for HR and accounting related measures.

Paylocity is cost-effective and provides all the resources we need in an HRMS. The system is easy to use and although there are obstacles, the different levels of the support team help come to a resolution.

Evaluating Paylocity and Competitors

Yes - We replaced:
- ADP for payroll processing and benefits
- Expensify for expense reimbursements
- BRi for HSA/FSA management
- An additional learning management tool

The major deciding factors were a one-stop shop, ease of use, and cost. We wanted everything in one place with one login at a cost-effective rate that would be easy to use and not time consuming.
No changes. Overall, we are happy with our final selection of Paylocity.

Paylocity Implementation

Implementation was mostly fine. The big issue was after implementation. There was no direction on what was automated and what needed to be manually maintained and/or entered.

  • We did not have enough internal resources working on implementation.
  • We only had 1 person that was "mastering" the system during implementation.

Paylocity Support

There are too many support teams. Issues arise, and it seems each team wants to point the problem to someone else. It would be better if the account manager stayed on the ticket from start to finish so you do not have to explain the issue 5 times over. On a positive note, support is very responsive, and you are always working with the same team members.

I don't think I know about premium support.
Immediately after implementation, our HR manager resigned. Paylocity team stepped up and helped tremendously to fill the gap until we had a replacement that was able to learn the system.

Using Paylocity

The system is intuitive, user friendly, and easy to navigate. On the Admin side, we receive very few questions from the employees about using the system. That makes our job a lot easier.
