Overall Satisfaction with ScienceLogic

Primarily, In our organization, we use it to check the availability of our network devices and end hosts. Importantly it helps us to collect the most recent other data, related to devices or network environment and used for all the services/departments here. I guess it does cover all the problems that we encounter with our as well clients network environment.
  • Can access the device from tool itself.
  • Pull the reports for the specific devices with different filters.
  • It's collect network device data accurately
  • Can not provide currents statistic of the interface utilization.
  • Sometime take too much bandwidth to load the device summary page.
  • Can't wick the monitoring at the logic level like we can't enable or disable the alerting for the virtual routing protocol.
  • Increased the accuracy in monitoring of the device availability.
  • A secure monitoring tool.
  • Ease of the data collection of the network devices.
Yes, we got some granular visibility to our enterprise network devices and end hosts. We can even backtrack the old events for reference purpose and the resolution step provided in each alert help take the initial aid to an incident. Helped to maintain the device inventory for the different client device.
Basically, we are using it to monitor the enterprise network. But yes we started using it to monitor our own products based on the VoIP technologies and it's giving us the expected results to achieve the business needs. With this example, we also refer this tool to our client.
We integrate it with ServiceNow and automated to have first level troubleshooting like availability check, once we receive the alerts.
The vast majority of integration and automation is limited by what SyncSever and our own integrations with ServiceNow for Host Composites,
  • Our use of ServiceNow as our upstream CMDB with monitoring configuration paint being applied downstream has been a great boon to us. This allows our operations teams to force a repaint to clean up problem configurations without concern to multi-master issues.
  • IT Services have been how we folded our host clusters onto Science Logic stacks. We've been involved in early discussions about Device Services and Business Services and as those become tangible in the platform we will provide our feedback based on issues we find due to our scale.
  • This question is ambiguous. As stated, it suggests that Cisco IT might have found an unexpected or innovative way which ScienceLogic (the platform) is used which surprises Cisco IT. The reality is that Cisco IT is driving how ScienceLogic is used and we are surprising ScienceLogic (the company) with our scale and Enterprise Use Case specifications and articulations. The remainder of the questions will answer from a company perspective, not a product perspective.
I just started using AeroHive for our Access points management. I really have any point to make Science logic standout against the AeroHive.
It's the best monitoring tool for the enterprise network. but has a limitation when want to use it for virtualized environments like VM ware, Citrix.
In an enterprise network, we can configure it to monitor every end device to collect more granular data. but monitoring the virtualization systems has some limitations like we can't monitor the virtual switch between two VM's hosted on the same physical machine.
