High praise indeed...
Overall Satisfaction with ScreenConnect
As a sole trader, engineer and consultant in the IT industry that lives in the country, remote access and control are vital for my work. It allows me to provide "live" support to my clients... particularly those like myself, that live some distance from more traditional support.
Being able to restart a computer and automatically reconnect without having to involve the user is a prime ability. As is being able to access Windows and Apple computers.
ScreenConnect is easy to set up by clients and has never failed to connect.

Pros
- Strength One. Easy to set up for clients! Half the battle sometimes is walking someone through setting up the access before anything else can be done so just having to enter a code and "activate" a download is great. Though, getting the download to run can be a trial sometimes.
- Strength Two. Totally cloud-based - available anywhere and when and not tied to an internal computer. Allows me freedom of movement and assurance that the system can be accessed no matter where I am. So long as an Internet connection is available of course.
- Strength Three. Ability to see what systems are online at a glance. Great for single or small groups of computers where using a central management tool isn't possible or viable. Provides a nice and quick way of checking availability and some advance notice of a possible problem.
- Strength Four. Email notifications when live. No need to watch and wait for someone to setup remote access, get an email to advise when someone is online.
Cons
- Suggestion One. Ideal! Out of band control... Though I understand it is probably not possible... but the ultimate ability would be control outside of the OS on the computer. Being able to power on and view (and interact with) the boot sequence would be extraordinary.
- Remote control of Windows Phone, Google and Apple devices.
- Only a positive effect. Easy setup impresses clients as does fast connection and session speeds. They can get on with their day and rarely need to interrupt once session is established.
Better than all others! Being cloud-based and with such easy setup (for one-off support or ongoing computer access) but with the same abilities, it is the best of breed so far.
Tried many others over the last 20 years and settled on ScreenConnect.
It should be noted that I don't think it competes with Remote Desktop (RD) Services. Though RD Services (and RD Gateway specifically) provides some of the same services, it goes much further in terms of an organization's line of business applications and employee remote access.
