Overall Satisfaction with Splashtop Enterprise
Splashtop Remote Support is used by our small IT department to support and remotely access computers across our institution. We use it in place of Microsoft Remote Desktop and Apple Remote Desktop. It is accessible via both our desktop computers and our mobile devices, and most recently we started using it via Chromebooks.
- Affordable
- Easy to use
- Hidden from the end user
- Responsive company
- Need a better marketing department
- Support for older devices could be better
- Better defaults, such as hiding in the Windows Start menu
- Improved response times to our support tickets.
- Faster problem resolution because we do not have to physically visit the device.
- No time lost due to the tool not working properly.
Splashtop is very much underrated in the industry. It is incredibly secure, yet easy to use for both end users and I.T. Staff. 2FA is easily customized, and the account administrator can easily set 2FA requirements. In our instance, we also require manual approval for new devices by a member of our I.T. staff. Our end users are able to connect safely and securely to all the on site resources they need.
Onboarding with Splashtop is trivial. We created an installer +5 years ago which has been untouched since the initial configuration. We've been able to easily add users by department and match the machine groupings with departments as well. That way I.T. can easily keep track of both devices and user accounts. Once deployed, the solution was almost trivial for our end users and that is not something I can say about many I.T. tools available today.
Prior to Splashtop, I was a big advocate of using LogMeIn's product. However, LogMeIn's products have been unaffordable since the merger with Citrix. In my experience and evaluation, TeamViewer's line of products has been difficult to use even on a good day. My evaluations never went far enough to engage in pricing discussions. Splashtop Remote Support is just something that has fit my needs exactly, and in a recent conversation with the CEO, I was impressed at how much his vision aligned with what I was looking for from his company.

Splashtop Feature Ratings
Evaluating Splashtop Enterprise and Competitors
- Price
- Product Features
- Product Usability
Price was a key factor. Splashtop's competitors have been steadily increasing their prices to the point that they are almost out of reach for small organizations like ours. Splashtop has kept their pricing fairly steady so it remains affordable for us. The price-feature factor is incredible. Usability and features are also important, and Splashtop cannot be beat in those two areas.
Honestly I just would not waste my time with Splashtop's competition. Just by looking at the price-feature comparison, it blows the others away. Other offerings in this field are on the verge of no longer being affordable, but they offer the same core feature set.

Yes - In general I am not a fan of using a tool like Splashtop on a mobile device, especially a "standard" sized "smart" phone. However, in an emergency or to quickly check, Splashtop's mobile interface beats its competition easily. It is easy to use, and almost as quick to respond as the standard non-mobile interface.
