Overall Satisfaction with SurveyMonkey

We use SurveyMonkey in my organization for generating and sending forms to prospects and clients such as intake forms, specific follow up surveys for particular services, feedback forms, referral forms, and testimony forms. The intake form is how prospects can tell us about themselves and what services they need, so we can connect them to the next right step. We use SurveyMonkey through key checkpoints of our sales funnel/client pipeline.

Pros

  • It's easy and intuitive to create forms
  • Every question type is available (e.g. Likert scale, multi-select, etc.), and you can add an 'Other' option easily which comes with a dropdown for respondents to elaborate
  • Easy to see aggregated data

Cons

  • Only higher paid tiers allow for full customization of the forms, I wish it were easier and included to increase things like color and font size across the whole form. You're limited to their templates.
  • Conditional logic could improve
  • Each respondent needs their own link, it'd be easier if I could send the same general link to everyone, and SurveyMonkey could keep separate records for each new response
  • SurveyMonkey has saved us time and admin expense by cutting down email time, and encouraging more self-service
  • SurveyMonkey has saved us executive time, by helping qualify (or disqualify) leads before they get time with our management
It's easy and intuitive to create surveys, and has all the tools you would likely need to facilitate your survey, as well as some above and beyond intuitive features like auto-generation suggestions, and the 'Other' field you can add with a dropdown to elaborate. Features like this make it easy to create forms and anticipate your needs.
Building forms on SurveyMonkey is much easier and prettier than it is with HubSpot CRM, although I love that form responses map to our contact properties in HubSpot. Google Forms is less professional and clean looking and feeling than SurveyMonkey. I wouldn't want to put a Google form in front of a client or important stakeholder. But Google Forms is very quick and easy to pull together with a single, universal, short, sharable respondent link which is great for answers you need know. Plus the data integration/export to sheets is seamless and easy.

Do you think SurveyMonkey delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with SurveyMonkey's feature set?

Yes

Did SurveyMonkey live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of SurveyMonkey go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy SurveyMonkey again?

Yes

SurveyMonkey is well suited for external, professional, client-facing forms and complex question types. I've tried generating forms on HubSpot, and it's not nearly as intuitive or clean-looking, and not all question types are supported (e.g. Likert scales).

For quick, internal forms that don't need to be as pretty or professional, I find that Google Forms is the quickest and easiest to pull together, especially since it has a single, universal respondent link. If I wanted to embed a link in a mass email, SurveyMonkey doesn't allow multiple respondents to use the same link on my plan.
