TeamViewer, the OG Remote Support Tool
Overall Satisfaction with TeamViewer
We install TeamViewer on the computers of all clients we have a service contract with. We like to have multiple options for remote support. Even though we use MSP software for most of our remote work, we always add out TeamViewer account because it is such a reliable software. We know it will always be an option if our main remote software doesn't work. We have a few clients where we use TeamViewer as our main remote support option since it is quicker for some remote support functions, as well as the easy-to-use 2FA option in TeamViewer.
Pros
- Quick remote access
- File transfers
- Device monitoring (is it on or off)
Cons
- An easy way to connect to a user who doesn't have TeamViewer installed would be nice.
- A lite mode, where you could disable certain features when there is a very slow internet connection to help when the computer you are logging into is in a remote area with no good internet options.
- Increase maximum file size for file sharing would be good.
- Positive: Enable a single technician to work on more than one computer at a time to enable to bill 2x or more the amount of work
- Positive: Ease of use, requires very little training for new employees
- Negative: Extremely expensive for a small company
Logmein123: TeamViewer is a more stable software, and better for the type of service our company offer's our customers. TeamViewer is very good for a small, locally owned computer repair business, and more people have heard of TeamViewer and trust the name.

You can create a custom install file for TeamViewer. When we have a new PC for a customer that we have a contract with, we just pull their TeamViewer install file and within 2 minutes have it installed and ready to go on their new PC. TeamViewer has been very similar over the years, so there is a very little learning curve to using it or implementing it, which saves time which is money at the end of the day.
We do service with medical facilities and finance companies. Having HIPAA compliance and Two-Factor Authentication has enabled us to continue to use TeamViewer and not feel worried that we are not offering the best service to our customers.
