Overall Satisfaction with Wrike
Historically, my team has used Wrike to organize our projects and keep track of progress. It's an extremely dynamic, customizable project management tool and every team I've used it with has found it effective. Now, I use it more often to manage my own tasks and keep myself organized. As my role has changed over the years, as I've taken on secondary roles or tasks when others left the company or took leaves of absence, and even as I've added contract work to my life, Wrike has kept me organized.
Pros
- Customization
- To-Do List feature
- Usability
- Ability to Collaborate
Cons
- Visual Organization
- App Integration
- Pricing
- Limited Time Tracking Ability
- Improved quality of work - No missing tasks
- Improved time management
- Improved team dynamics - no one was getting frustrated because others aren't good at project management
- Ability to track how much time we're actually spending on projects beyond our own perception and make cost/benefit analyses
- Did complicate our document management system - Documents are easily shared in Wrike but it's easy to forget to pull them out and save them on a shared drive where we want them
I haven't tried AI features but I have tried automations. I like the automations, but some of these features live behind a pay wall. Wrike's pricing can be prohibitive and I mostly use it for my personal tasks, so I don't have a paid version anymore. To me, the automations aren't necessarily worth the cost, but they might be for larger organizations or teams with a lot of members.
monday.com is popular and it's easy to understand why. If you're looking for a low-commitment personal task manager, it might be for you. I found it was complicated in the wrong ways and too simple where I needed it to be complicated. I also found it distracting to use. Microsoft to-do is great for the integration factor, but extremely limited in its capability. ActiveCollab is wonderful for strictly project-based work, but it's hard to know what you're responsible for and it doesn't do a great job of notifying you outside the site. You really have to be an active user, checking each project, to make it work. Wrike allows for projects and tasks in equal measure and will email you with your work so you don't even necessarily need to check the app.
