If you have an existing CRM system, like Microsoft 365, you can integrate campaign automation with Act-On, and then it is worth most of the time it takes to get less-experienced employees on-boarded. In other cases that require more minimal use, the on-boarding may be too lengthy. In that case, it may be better-suited to choose a different SaaS that tracks campaign, ROI, lead scoring, etc.

Pros

  • Customer service. Act-on is the leader in client support for training, basic tips and trouble shooting to planning our Act-On strategy. The Act-On team is flexible, friendly, engaged and collaborative.
  • Act-On does not over-complicate its offering. It is visually appealing and intuitive. Some platforms are just too complicated to keep on top of. We are a small team with a busy marketing schedule. We do not depend a great deal on online lead generation for our growth, however Act-On is still a good fit for us.
  • Trust. No surprises once we had signed our agreement. In fact, our expectations were exceeded.
  • Value - price for service.

Everything is set up to be used very easily and and it is very intuitive. The menus are set up well and it's easy to find the areas that I need. Emails and landing pages are very easy to create, and they can be created quickly to help save time on campaigns and projects.

Alternatives Considered

HubSpot - Great templates for email and landing pages. Fantastic for targeted content if you have a large amount of content. Free CMS. Very good sales people promise a lot. But for our test experience, the service support did not stand up to Act-On. And our HubSpot testing indicated that costs would be hard to control as the help desk was of little help with basic problems - always handing us over to consultants who charge for support. The free CMS seemed like a no-brainer in comparisons but we became concerned that if we used HubSpot as our CMS, we may struggle to disentangle ourselves if we needed to in the future. Act-On is not as sophisticated as HubSpot. But for support - which you will need unless you are an experienced platform user - it is critical to our success. It also comes down to how much time you have to learn the system you have chosen - you only get out what you put in. Act-On is simpler and a better fit for our smaller team

I use MailChimp since it offers a free service with maximum features to get started. When we started to get a lot of clients we started to use Cordial Messaging and we are extremely satisfied with what we get back. Cordial is the best choice when we compare it to MailChimp and ConstantContact since their real-time analytics and customized dashboards are better than anyone.
