Sage CRM
Score 8.9 out of 10
Mid-Size Companies (51-1,000 employees)
Sage CRM is an SMB-oriented CRM platform offered in both SaaS and on-premise editions. Unlike the Sage SalesLogix product, the SaaS version is a true multi-tenant offering.
The platform offers excellent integration with Sage ERP and accounting products. It is also a good global solution and is available in many languages and is used by over 12,000 customers worldwide, with many customers in Europe.
We have Teams, at our organization. But, we cannot add people who do not have our email address extension. We started to look into Teams to do the same thing as Basecamp, but it was too complicated and difficult to set up.
in my opinion, it is Inferior, clunky, ugly product as compared to the others. I only selected Basecamp on recommendations from someone else who was using it, and have moved on to ClickUp. This Basecamp app failed to notify myself, my teammates and the client so many times, …
I've also used ClickUp and Asana. My personal favorite is ClickUp although it is limited in how it integrates with Slack which caused me to switch to Asana. ClickUp has a ton of features, including on their free plan and in my opinion is much better than Basecamp. Asana is …
Both programs are good. We went with the one that most people on the team felt comfortable with so we would have the most buy-in. I also like the continual updates and feedback Basecamp takes to heart. Basecamp also has some functionality that met the needs of the organization …
We found that Basecamp worked better for our needs than these competitors. ML is a bit slow for our purposes, and it doesn't handle images/video in as nice of a way. Invision could potentially work alright for our needs but would require too many different screenshots being …
Basecamp is a feature-rich and user-friendly platform that outpaces other solutions we've explored. The vast number of integrations available, as well as the years of dedicated developers as well as the natively available mobile apps, really make Basecamp a leader in this …
Basecamp is the best application we've found for our team to interface with external clients. It makes project management simple, and allows our clients visibility into their projects, which in turn builds trust, fosters open communication, and improves customer satisfaction. …
Trello is less expensive and the free version works pretty well. For the paid version, Trello is also a really great tool. Overall, I do like Basecamp better. It's a more simple layout and structure to the software. I like the communication threads better on Basecamp. Trello …
Basecamp is probably my least favorite. As a project manager, I'm always auditing our workflow and processes, so I try to run at least trials of project management software to get a feel for if they would help us do things more efficiently. I struggled the most with Basecamp.
We tried other software while selecting paid plans of Basecamp; its customer service is fast and very prompt in comparison to others. Interface and UI & UX is also very good, which is very good for team members. The team loves this product and they are very happy with it. We …
Asana has an expanded list of capabilities over Basecamp. If you're looking for a simple tool, Basecamp is your go-to. If you need something that makes it easy to schedule recurring tasks, dependencies, mass updates, seeing a project map, and capacity of your team, Asana is the …
Trello, Gantify. We selected Basecamp because we liked the card system, even though it was lacking some of the other features we liked from other platforms.
We moved from Basecamp to Monday.com. Monday is much better suited to an environment where most projects are similar to other projects you are currently working on or have already completed. Monday isn't as "social" or as "community building" as Basecamp, but we've always used …
Basecamp if far simpler than ClickUp. We use Clickup to manage our internal task management, as it provides more customization, additional views and more room for extreme detail in tasks. We used Basecamp for clients because of its simplicity and ease-of-use. Basecamp requires …
Pretty good, but [Basecamp] has its drawbacks. Honestly I find the interface non-intuitive and sometimes have trouble figuring out how to change the status of a task. Perhaps it has something to do with the way it was originally set up by the admin, but I'm not sure. I liked …
Basecamp is simple to understand, easy to use, and does not come with the bloat and complications of a solution like Teams. It is certainly more organized and easy to follow than simply having a group chat on Slack and Viber. If you need to easily find information, it can be …
I haven't used Asana very much at all but I wasn't any more impressed with it than ClickUp. However, I wasn't in it long enough to customize it to my liking so that could have been why.
ClickUp is way more robust than its competitors. Smartsheet is more of a simple spreadsheet-like tool. Asana has nowhere near the customizability. And Trello is too simple. ClickUp is like a mashup of all the PMIS tools out there, combining all of their features into a …
ClickUp is the best tool to use for teams that are scaling up because it comes with a lot of tools that you can eliminate out of the box and their advanced features (so many options for views, templates, custom fields) are unlike any other tool that I have used before.
ClickUp had the best and easiest user segmentation. Asana is a bit heavy to navigate sometimes. I also prefer the ClickUp List Views over the Monday.com list views.
Hard to describe it, but the way it connects everything so much better, that they layout is significantly easier to use, and the capabilities are significantly higher. Cleaner and easier to use than SalesForce, both in capability and in the way the workspace UX is presented is …
I've mentioned most of my thoughts in other comments, but in each of those listed softwares, I only get one main feature. In ClickUp, I consolidate all of the above into one. Pretty incredible.
I have never been the decision maker on software like this. They are always decided by someone else before I start working for a company. ClickUp seems like the one with the most features though. My co-worker especially loves it and is the one who insisted we use ClickUp over …
For me the customizability of ClickUp was unmatched. It really felt like there was no limit on what I could use it for and how I could organize things.
For specific features, their Docs are really my favorite part. The customizability and ability to directly link to related …

both are people using it for project management and product development and follow the agile teams across the teams to complete the things on time. But in ClickUp, it's all in one platform for all the daily tasks happening in the company, from onboarding to the completion of …
Microsoft Teams is a good project however, there were also software glitches that became detrimental to our success. We tried working it out with the company but found that the product did not meet our needs. ClickUp does so much more and has fewer issues with glitches and …
I used Salesforce at my last job and would recommend ClickUp if utilizing the product for more than just sales. My last company tried using Salesforce for a number of other actions, such as department project tracking, client documentation, and outbound communication which did …
ClickUp offers more ways to set up a project. It's not just one or two ways - which makes it a bit more stealthy in its way to fit a variety of team sizes and project types. For us, having so many features within one tool makes it a no-brainer for our team.
The main reason I initially chose ClickUp over all of the others was price. Because we are a small nonprofit, our funds for this were basically $0. So the robust free version of ClickUp really sold me. Once I got in there and worked with it, I realized just how valuable this …
ClickUp has more features integrated and well organized. Especially the concept of having Spaces, folders and lists helps a lot in organizing the projects and each having its own workflows.
We evaluated many other CRM but selected Sage CRM because it is one of the most cost effective CRM's available in the market. I would say this is the best platform to manage leads, though they have not a great customer support team still it solves the basic problem of lead …
Sage is an awesome CRM and has several functionalities that several small business can take advantage of however for a small start up business that is trying to get its legs, Hubspot has affordable pricing and complete customization of the backend, meaning that you can create …
Salesforce didn't have the integration we needed in Sage CRM. The number of dollars spent on hiring developers or buying a product, in addition to the licensing for Salesforce itself put it out of reach.
I used Salesforce in the past which does almost everything as Sage CRM, but typically it's a bit expensive. It also lacks the advanced web interface and did not suit well with other software.
I have looked at and used both Salesforce and Maximizer in the past. Salesforce offer similar functionality to Sage CRM at much higher price typically. Maximer has less funtionality and because of its on premise background lacks the advanced web interface of Sage CRM.
I have a preference for Salesforce.com because of the app exchange that they have. Sage CRM is more on par with Oracle CRM and Netsuite CRM. Oracle CRM is the most similar with the dual options of on-premise and cloud based solutions. I am mostly working with Salesforce.com …
Salesforce and Maximizer CRM. In my personal opinion, I prefer both of these products over Sage CRM. They are both more user friendly and easier to maintain. Also Sage has shot their prices up over the years and the price just does not match the product, in my opinion. Sage CRM …
Whilst SAGE CRM was selected around 10 years ago and we became a partner, the main contenders would have been at the time Sales Logix and MS CRM 4.0. However, we had extensive experience of the mid-market CRM's and decided on SAGE CRM since it had a clean, easy to understand …

I believe that Sage CRM is superior to Salesforce, having worked with both I found Salesforce tedious to work with, not very logical set up and key information was hard to find. I know that people that have not had the pleasure of working with Sage CRM were satisfied with …
I've not evaluated any other products and this system was in place long before I came on board. I will say I've used other systems in the past and this system is user friendly, easy to learn, well laid out, functional, and very rarely goes down or experiences technical issues. …
We are a partner that implements most of the mainstream CRM products in the marketplace and Sage CRM is a great fit because of the low cost to deploy, the ease of setting up and rolling out the technology, and the continued improvements and enhancements through Sage Software to …
I have evaluated and implemented MS Dynamics CRM from a business perspective, and more recently Salesforce.com CRM as an administarator. Sage was more intuitive than Salesforce, and also less expensice than both of them. At that time, I used Sage CRM because the company I was …
GoldMine, ACT!, MSCRM, Saleslogix, Sugar CRM, Salesforce.com Sage CRM is stronger or equal to each. The depth that is available out of the box is excellent, and though configuration is almost necessary, it makes the product extremely powerful. Many clients rely on the …
The ease of use for our many different types of users makes it an easy choice for me and hopefully for the other employees I have recommended it to. I have seen the results as compared to other platforms and in my experience, it is far superior and easier to work with.
Small to mid-size would be a great fit [for Basecamp]. It's simple to use and does not require a ton of ramp-up. Unlike other platforms that require you to learn their terminology in order to use the platform this works well for the non technical user whom just needs to put in simple task updates[.]
It has been great for all of my needs - tracking elaborate tasks/subtasks and their timelines, instructions, time spent, reporting on time, etc. I did try to use it for lesson planning and time tracking for homeschool and it got too hard to view and keep track of all the automations I had set up and if they were firing at the right times. But that's the only time I can think of where it didn't really work for what I needed!
as it is a very flexible software that can be adapted to any business model, other functions human resource management, manufacturing and supply chain planning, all these functions are housed in a highly technological interface. I liked this system because it made automating accounts payable so much easier.the control of the basic accounting of any type of company
Task management - It is very easy to add, organize and discuss tasks within Basecamp's interface.
The "Campfire" function is great for communicating when you just have a quick question for someone on the team.
Notifications - Basecamp lets you decide how often and about what you'd like to be notified. The ability to respond to messages in Basecamp directly via email saves a lot of time.
Customization is huge for us! We do not have the aspects of standard project management, so having the ability to customize basically everything in ClickUp is amazing.
An outstanding free version of the software! We are a small nonprofit organization that cannot afford the robust levels of other software, so having access to SO MUCH for free is incredible.
The layout and organization of tasks, Spaces, folders, etc. is perfect. I love how I can see which task all of my subtasks belong to on my dashboard. And the option to change colors and icons for everything also really appeals to my obsessive brain.
Sage CRM is very intuitive and easy to use. The benefit to organizations using this system is that users will find executing daily tasks seamless and accessing historical information easily while selling or servicing customers and prospects.
The dashboards and reporting are extensive at both a global and a client level. In addition, these reports and dashboards are available through any interface (smartphone, tablet, browser). This makes accessing real time information in a meaningful way available to users easy through any device wherever the user is located.
Escalations and workflow are also very powerful. Sage CRM uniquely provides the ability for users to execute workflow from within the context of the dashboards. What this means is that every day tasks can be executed quickly without lots of time searching through client records.
High Learning Curve. It's true that it can be easy to use, but to use well and effectively takes some time to learn. It's recommended to have an agreed-upon system in your team of what tools to use and when.
Notification Overload. If people aren't careful they could send a notification to everyone when only a couple people were meant to be prompted. And since emails are sent by default, you could have your mailbox overloaded with unnecessary updates. This is where it takes a bit of training in your team to have an agreed-upon system.
Lack of organization with Archived Projects. I will often need to reference an archived project to make a new one, but there is only a list of archived projects in alphabetical order, with no way to organize by archive date, or even search.
Reliance on Apache Tomcat causes a lot of headaches. There are common issues trying to start up the server, resulting from Apache Tomcat misconfigurations, or Java. Some forum posts on Sage City address common issues, but digging into server logs seems to be an often occurrence.
Support is somewhat lacking, less user install base means error messages are sometimes hard to find quick answers for. Most of the knowledge found on the internet is in the Sage City forum.
Integration with Microsoft 365 causes you to have to turn off some security features. This will result in your 365 tenants running lower security standards than recommended, it may put you at risk for targeted attacks.
When I bring new people onto a project, it's immediately obvious how to use Basecamp. I don't have to worry about teaching them the features or walking them through it, it's just incredibly user-friendly. For this reason, I'll continue to renew my subscription even as new people are brought onto production jobs or the client changes.
It has been a game-changer in terms of project tracking, as animation is a demanding product that requires multiple layers of analysis, revisions, tracking, scheduling, etc. ClickUp simplifies many approvals as anyone can easily add items, and you can tag the people who need to look at them.
There are really no other words to say, it is a very easy to use application that is more straightforward and has provided better results with the bulk of features that appeal to a very broad amount of users. There may be other CRM platforms out there that are more prevalent, but I have found them to be much more clunky and less intuitive than Sage CRM.
I would give it a ten but we have some very minor issues. Those have all been easy to work around and I still really like Basecamp. We also have trouble with some clients who can only handle email—but those are rare cases when technology is just not their thing.
In general, I think the usability is probably great. The reason I didn't give it as high of a score is because at the last 2 companies I worked at, they each used different software. So I was already used to those. Learning their UI isn't hard, but always a little annoying to learn something new.
Excellent integration with the most important social networks (LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter) to get leads. The mobile app is quite useful for speeding up the tasks at hand and not relying on the computer or being in the office to get them done.
I've never experienced downtime while using Basecamp, or been unable to access it when I needed it. That's not to say they've never had downtime, but I've been lucky enough not to encounter any, and I work odd hours, including late nights when maintenance is often undertaken.
For over a year ClickUp was unavailable to us just twice for a couple of hours. I would say for a system this big and working globally that was a minor issue. They managed to fix all the issues within a couple hours and then it was back up and running perfectly fine.
The speed of ClickUp is average to be honest. This is one of the biggest flaws of the system, sometimes it's also lagging a little bit but we also have a lot of documents, lists etc. on our workspace. However, with the next version of ClickUp I've seen they are planning to increase the speed by almost 500%, probably by changing the technology, so I am more than looking forward to it.
Sage works very quickly based on the network you are using it on. It is internet based so if your network is slow, it will perform slowly. Reports seem to run reasonably fast, if there is too much information it is trying to populate that could slow it down a little. When Sage CRM is integrated with a Sage ERP product it doesn't tend to slow down either system at all
For the many reasons I've given, Basecamp is a very strong program. There are a few features I can imagine that might make it even better, but I don't have a basis for comparison to be able to say that there is definitely a better one out there. I've noticed that Basecamp has evolved a bit from the time I started using it until now, so that makes me think that the producer of this program values it and believes in continuous improvement. If you could use the features offered by Basecamp, I would think you could use it with confidence.
Support are genuinely helpful and really nice to deal with. I had a bug on my workspace that I’d been experiencing for a while. They looked into it for me and asked some questions. Once they found the issue and resolved it, they even filmed a video detailing how they’d fixed it. That level of support is fantastic.
Support team is really slow and they need to work on this really. Sometimes it takes days to resolve a simple query and there is no way to get it expedited. Rest the product is is amazing but the team should look into the costumer support and get it working
There are multiple guides on literally all of the functions you can find within the system, therefore it's easy to learn anything you'd really like to use, starting from project and people management, down to Gantts, mind maps, time tracking, inviting Clients as guests to work with you on the projects and so much more.
Decide the process before implementation - i.e. when it's due 8/9 does that mean 8am, noon, 5pm, 11:59pm? Check your to-do list frequently Set-up templates - just not with the dates (they can be funky)
Start small. Don’t try to build the most elaborate plans first. Resist the urge to get into Gantt charts if no one is used to them. Just get work written, add dates and assignees, and start getting used to it. If you did not use a work management tool before, you need to be gracious with yourself about the fact that you likely do not have the muscle memory for working this way yet. But you will get there.
And leverage people who know it if possible. Look for ClickUp experts and vendors. They can really supercharge your effectiveness at building the tool out and speed up the process.
The implementation and upgrades were rather quick and straight forward. Attempting to link Sage CRM with Sage 100 ERP however was a nightmare and will be avoided by us in the future due to numerous issues.
Basecamp is the best application we've found for our team to interface with external clients. It makes project management simple, and allows our clients visibility into their projects, which in turn builds trust, fosters open communication, and improves customer satisfaction. It's easy to learn and use, and has just enough customizability to work for many different types of projects.
Hard to describe it, but the way it connects everything so much better, that they layout is significantly easier to use, and the capabilities are significantly higher. Cleaner and easier to use than SalesForce, both in capability and in the way the workspace UX is presented is far more usable, the features are more rich and flexible than Monday (as well as billing and feature access across plans is way better), and the list + doc + spaces structure is miles ahead of Notion in terms of structure, layout, access, and usability.
Sage is an awesome CRM and has several functionalities that several small business can take advantage of however for a small start up business that is trying to get its legs, Hubspot has affordable pricing and complete customization of the backend, meaning that you can create the perfect CRM for your own unique business
Scaling with ClickUp is superb. If you create a workflow best suited for your organization then it's all about creating new accounts and teaching the new employees the workflow you're using. It's that simple. There is no black magic when it comes to Clickup.
Allow us to provide reports and updates via computer to leadership.
Leadership in our organization have praised IT for the use of ClickUp because the tool is exactly what was needed. Before, we were depending on spreadsheets to keep track of work.
ClickUp brings organizatins together in ways that other software has not. It provides everything we lacked and needed to get out organization up to the standard as other large universities.
