Remote Access
Comparison of Remote Access features of Product A and Product B
We use WebEx Support Center in the IT department to support users as well as work with vendors remotely. This applies to physical desktops, laptops, and Virtual Desktops. We have around 200 employees. Most employees work in one of our offices, but we do have at least 5-10 users who are more frequently remote than they are in the office. It helps us remotely access machines we wouldn't otherwise have access to, due to lack of physical access. It's excellent for troubleshooting access problems from users' personal machines, as well.
As long as there is internet connectivity, Getscreen.me is useful for connecting to your desktop or a server in order to work remotely. An example would be a dedicated machine for rendering video. We use Getscreen.me to log in and start the render. Connecting to a client desktop to provide on system support. There is the ability to log and record activity when the application is used, this would be helpful for monitoring activity of a remote desktop tech support team. Reporting is basic but provides enough information to track interactions.
I use HelpWire for training new employees and fixing software issues. When a new hire joins, I can easily access their computer to help them set up their development environment and answer questions right away. It’s also a great tool for troubleshooting. If someone has a problem, I can log in to their computer, see what’s wrong, and help them fix it. HelpWire makes this process quicker and easier.
Simple Remote Access - WebEx Support Center works with either a permanent install or temporary executable, so you don't have to worry about users being particularly comfortable or knowledgeable about software installation. It also doesn't matter if the user is on an account without admin rights, you can still connect and see what's going on using the temporary executable.
Robust Access Options - You can take see the user's screen, take control of their screen, send files, and retrieve files. It's a great tool for troubleshooting issues that users might be experiencing and doesn't depend on them being able to find the files that you need to properly troubleshoot their issues.
Great performance - Even when users don't have a particularly great internet connection, you can still typically get good results and help them quickly. You're not going to do it over dial-up (if that even still exists for anyone), but it works acceptably well even over very modest DSL or satellite internet connections.
During initial setups it can be a little confusing.
The look and feel is a little rigid. It feels like it is in need of a smoother UI update.
When a new user is introduced to webex and they are asked to share their desktop, it maybe a little difficult for the user to navigate to the correct buttons.
Speed - the Getscreen.me solution is an all round winner - however I find that there is a slight lag when controlling a remote PC mouse - compared to the competitors products. If this can be improved on - the GETSCREEN.ME get a 10 out of 10 from us!
Limited Features Compared to Paid Options: As a free software, HelpWire delivers impressive core functionality. However, it might lack some advanced features found in paid remote desktop software. These could include things like: 1. Unattended Access,
Advanced User Management: For larger teams or organizations, more granular user management controls might be desired. This could allow for assigning different access levels or permissions to different users within the organization.
The Enterprise package we purchased (Event Center, Remote Support, Meeting Center, and Training Center) for 100 users is the same annual price as GoToMeeting for 25 users. We will renew as it is a package deal. If it were just WebEx Remote Support, we would not renew at all.
Honestly, there are people available. But none of them will help you with your issues. They just keep assigning new service engineers who are often clueless.
For what we need it to do, it just works. And I'm sure that we're not even using it to the full extent of what it's capable and designed to do. If we had the need, Getscreen.me has many more features that we could implement. If the need arises in the future, it's great knowing that we already have a tool to utilize.
HelpWire has been really great for me. It’s easy to use, works fast, and the chat helps a lot when talking to clients. And it’s free, which is awesome. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone who needs remote support.
When I did reach out at the early days of using Getscreen.me I got a pretty prompt response, and all of my questions were answered. Since then, I have never needed to contact support. This is a GOOD thing!
I would say that Cisco Webex Support stacks up pretty evenly in capability, but in some regards (video clarity, toll-free access, etc.) they were even better. Where they did provide a better solution for toll-free access on audio bridges, their audio quality was worse for those that wanted to use VoIP for the audio conference bridge.
In my experience, Getscreen.me stacks up very well against other remote desktop software like TeamViewer and AnyDesk. One of the things I appreciate most about Getscreen.me is its competitive pricing. Compared to other remote control services like TeamViewer or AnyDesk, I find that Getscreen.me offers fantastic value for money. In terms of functionality, Getscreen.me has all the features I need, including cross-platform access, file transfer, and remote control. I also find the quick access function to be incredibly useful, as it allows me to connect to a remote computer in just two clicks.
We felt a lag in movement of mouse on AnyDesk but on HelpWire we do not face any such issue. The movement of cursor and mouse is as smooth as working on your own system.
WebEx Support Center works pretty excellently for us as we are a small shop. We are experienced and have pretty good skill sets. WebEx Support Center is an excellent product for our use cases with our users and client to troubleshoot issues.
WebEx Support Center is more expensive than our previous product MXIE or Logmein. It has a more user-friendly UI, and overall performance is better and reliable.
