Clari can be used as an excellent platform to include all critical data for sales purposes. All forecasting activities and management can be handled in one single place like Clari. Also, Clari apps give you an immediate area for your notes and to provide visibility to others to help and improve the sales process.

  • If your business only wants to feed Xactly Incent the final results (answers) and have it display them.
  • If your business does not want automation.
  • if your business wants to do everything manually.
  • If your business has simple comp plans.
Not suited for:
  • Businesses with complex comp plans.
  • Businesses that require flexibility.
  • Businesses that require detailed reporting.
  • Businesses that require proration.

  • Allows for more efficient funnel management - quick ability to update sales funnels in real time.
  • Provides transparency for leadership to see what is happening with the deals in real time.
  • Able to see the whole story within the sales cycle for upper management down to rep level, as well as those not within sales, to get an understanding of the state of the business.

  • There are a lot of options in Xactly, so you are usually able to accomplish anything you need.
  • They have had pretty regular updates so there are always improvements being made.
  • They have a community portal that allows you to provide ideas and vote on other people's ideas for things that aren't currently accessible in Incent.

  • Limited functionality. Really the only use case for me is forecasting and deal reviews.
  • Allow all managers to edit reps stages and numbers with a notification.
  • Does not require manual commit numbers to be confirmed. Should auto-commit the previous week's number if no change is needed.

Xactly Incent

  • The advantage of flexible setup is at the same time a Con. Everything need to be setup and will be programmed from the scratch. When you miss a scenario in the FRD phase or did not foresee it costs effort and money to get it later added. Due to the complexity there are a small errors in the starting phase until the system runs well. We needed nearly a year to get it working as expected.
  • The functionalty is not intuitive and sometimes very complex to use. E.g. to create adjustments several steps in different menues are needed.
  • the desgin was updated recently in the menue structure but most of the parts are still some kind of old fashioned

Our company is totally invested in Xactly with close to 2000 reps being paid out of it. We have 3 instances and there is no other method to calculate commissions. I feel the cost (although I do not know the amount) is also very competitive for the benefits.

I've migrated several business units to Xactly. I've trained several sales team on Incent. I've trained several new comp admins on Incent. Generally, everyone picks up on the system with a short learning curve. As noted previously, I can calculate any component with any calculation in Incent. It has increased our accuracy and improved our communication with our sales team.

In general the system is nearly always available. But the daily achievement calculation takes a hugh amount of time. therefore it was in the past month sometimes only from midday onwards completely updated and usable for Sales employees. Xactly support was and still is working hard to get it available early mornings. Availablility time has increased a lot. It's now down to around 10 am in the moring

Clari is very willing to jump in and build out use cases. They will work to do anything for you. That said, their follow up is not great. We have had to reach out for follow up several times on a project, which is still not complete. I wish they taught us how to complete what we want, rather than doing it in house for us

When we get a response 4 hours later from the support team that the issue been resolved then found out the issue is still there. Later, we respond back that the issue is not fix, and we have to wait another 4 hours to inform us that they are looking into again. This is when there is a deadline due today and that is 8 hours of your day just sitting and waiting for support trying to resolve our problem.

The trainers are motivated and try their best. I would not book again a general Incent courses. Yes, you get a general overview. But in very short time with a lot of time pressure you learn complex system handling. Incent is extensively customizable why the general training shows sometimes workarounds and best practices that you can't use or your setup is different.The training is well structured and the training material was valuable.

Xactly offers training on new releases on a monthly basis and training on basic principles regularly via registration. My experience with both is that they do not provide the in-depth knowledge necessary to truly master the system and advanced courses still do not go to the level needed to autonomously manage the system and plans. Professional services are a large part of any cloud based service such as Xactly and I feel a reliance on such paid consulting services is a great money-maker for Xactly.

Not familiar with other products in the quote to close space. I have not used others, as Clari has been our first and we have been very pleased with it, so I have had no need to evaluate other competitors to it.

Xactly Incent

There are some other Sales Performance Management platforms available but they are not as adaptive or flexible as Xactly. I have worked in this industry for over 20 years and have not seen anything come close to offering all the tools Xactly offers. We selected Xactly because of all the capabilities with Sales Performance Management and I am not aware of another SPM tool that provides the level of detail with the commission calculations, analytics reporting, and automation as Xactly does.

It's very flexible. In most cases it can be adapted to your needs by programming which may cost extra money. We have a lot of different complans and close to 1.000 employees using Xactly in EMEA. It's mainly used by Sales and Finance

  • Although this has shown great efficiencies which has saved many hours per month as well as no need for extra headcount we have not officially completed a formal ROI.
  • My frustration level has definitely decreased in preparing multiple excel workbooks for each of our teams.
  • Inquiries from the sales teams have decreased to almost nothing due to system calculations instead of manual calculations often with errors that were missed in validation.
  • The Salesforce team loves it because they have better insight into their payouts much quicker prior to the final results going in front of the IC Governance Committee for approval.
