Likelihood to Recommend Harvest is ideally suited for a variety of scenarios, particularly in the realms of freelance or consulting work, where accurate hour tracking for billing is crucial. It excels in small to medium businesses managing team projects, allowing for effective resource allocation and time management across multiple concurrent projects. For budgeting and forecasting, Harvest provides valuable data, aiding in accurately estimating the duration and cost of future projects based on past data. It's also highly beneficial for remote or distributed teams, thanks to its cloud-based platform that facilitates seamless coordination. Additionally, its detailed reporting features enhance client transparency, fostering trust through clear communication of time spent on projects. However, Harvest may be less suitable for larger enterprises with complex integration needs or specialized industries requiring more niche features. Small startups or individuals on tight budgets might find the cost challenging, especially if they don't fully utilize all its features. Lastly, for those needing only basic time tracking, simpler or free tools might be more appropriate, making Harvest an unnecessary expenditure for basic needs.
Read full review It would fit well in a scenario where the company does not know how to handle employee reimbursements and is looking for an easy and simple way to do it without having to invest in a large infrastructure.Since it is 100% web, it does not require installing any programs on employees' computers and the mobile phone app makes management even easier.
Read full review Pros Offers several options on using the tool, for example, you can use the app on your phone, the app for desktop, or simply have the website open. The timer integrates with other platforms. For example, our team uses Asana as our project management tool. Now, in real-time, I can know which projects my team is working on and whether we're implementing good time management strategies to meet our goals. The summary break downs are wonderful! You can view an individual's hours as well as project hours. There are even notifications you could receive when your team is getting close to reaching the allotted time for a client's project. It is a very inexpensive product. Well worth the cost. Read full review Cons I’m still trying to figure out how tasks best associate to a specific project. There’s a couple different places to edit that and I’m a little confused as to best practice. Does not integrate into basecamp which is our project management system Read full review Expense claim feature when it comes to travel and when we have to create in terms of KMS driven it should auto-capture the dates. This can be improved and there is the scope for improvement. More tabs can be provided in petty cash expense so you need not type. Read full review Likelihood to Renew I would see no issues in renewing the Webexpenses software, and this has improved the way we process expenses.
Read full review Usability I use Webex to claim business expenses, millage, fuel, meals, hotels etc... and have done for many years both in the UK and abroad.Webex makes the process simple and effective, the mobile (app) option removes the need to keep receipts and makes getting the receipts 'into they system' much easier. Especially with busy lives, to take the photo and have it sitting there is a great advantage, you can 'come back later' to build the claim knowing you have all the details you need.As an end user I know where I stand with the claim, when my manager has authorised the payment and when the payment has been processed by our accounts team. It would be great if Webex offered this service for charities and voluntary organisations such as Scouts and Guides. Volunteering in Scouts I can see where the service would support how we work, we as volunteers are often out of pocket and with people leading busy lives, forget to make our claims. Being responsible for the finances I cannot justify paying for this service but I can see how the service would benefit tens of thousands of volunteers if Webex was available to charities discounted or even free...
Read full review Reliability and Availability There was an unexpected system issue that caused us to have to postpone a user training session at the last minute. Our Webexpenses trainer was not aware that it was going to occur.
Read full review Performance The performance is great. Pages and reports load quickly. The data export/import from Webexpenses to our financial software, ACS, is not user friendly, mainly due to ACS import steps
Read full review Support Rating They're very responsive and do their best to answer whatever questions we've had. Sometimes, the question or request we've made is for a feature that doesn't yet exist, however in most cases those features have been built later and did eventually address our need.
Read full review The support for the initial setup was great, but since then we have only had to contact support once when we had problems uploading credit card files. The help we received at this time was not good and we ended up trying various things until we resolved the problem ourselves. The online support tutorials are good, but searching for a specific issue is difficult.
Read full review Online Training Our trainer spoke very quickly and went through the training material quickly. Since this process was new to us, we missed some important information. We would have benefitted from further training with report generation as well. She did provide a recording of the training, but again, she went through the material very quickly.
Read full review Implementation Rating The process is well organized, easy to track and easy to check the progress of my claim. Webexpenses can detect the amount on the receipt
Read full review Alternatives Considered Harvest is significantly better than Jira. I think Jira's is not originally intended to be used as a time logging/management system, but we had been previously using it as that. It was much clunkier, and many employees had a difficult time using it as a user interface goes. Harvest is much more user friendly and has simplified the daily time-logging process for everyone in our office
Read full review The ease of use of the platform has been the biggest benefit of this system. We didn't need to provide any structured training to our staff, we just sent out the link and people were able to intuitively use the platform. Other competitors were harder to navigate and to use
Read full review Scalability The Webexpenses multiple department management was not a perfect match for our internal structure. We developed work-arounds.
Read full review Return on Investment Harvest has improved our payment schedules. Since we switched, we get paid for projects much sooner. Harvest has saved us a ton of time with payroll. We are able to track our users time and pay them appropriately based on their billable hours. Harvest is becoming a lifesaver around tax time. The reporting features have allowed us to pull reports for our tax accountant. Accounts departments require less capacity as its all automated. Good tracking of expenses through the dashboard for managers. Read full review ScreenShots
