Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central
Chose Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central
Microsoft Dynamics GP feels a bit more user friendly and intuitive than NAV. However, NAV will definitely win the gold on the ability to integrate and connect with other software and technologies, especially as the company grows. We are having a tougher time training employees …
Chose Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central
Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is more robust and extensible than NetSuite. NetSuite wins out on visual presentation and user based reporting flexibility. Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central wins out on integration and financial integration as well as power of …
Chose Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central
I think from an overall easy to use ERP that has many modules to help manage the business from client side to back office with accounting and finances MS Dynamics BC is one of the better solutions I've used. It seems to be more robust in features yet intuitive and easy for …
Chose Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central
As compared to others Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is more advanced in terms of features and tools available along. In terms of pricing it gives a fight with the competition. Make it the ideal choice as its easy to use and for streamlining operations across multiple …
Chose Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central
BC is MUCH easer to setup and to use. The support offering for BC is much better.
Chose Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central
I have personally supported all of the Dynamic family of ERP systems and made the decision to concentrate on NAV as the solution of choice. From a support and development standpoint there are few if any packages that can compare. It is not uncommon for most of the companies …
Microsoft Dynamics GP
Chose Microsoft Dynamics GP
Business Central wasn't out then. Nav, the predecessor, was out, but its user interface was dated until 2009, when the role-tailored client came out; it was much better afterwards. If your company has manufacturing, then Business Central is the way to go. It's unfortunate that …
Chose Microsoft Dynamics GP
Due to the size of our company Microsoft Dynamics GP works better for us than Quickbooks because of the reporting capabilities. However, the NetSuite demo proved to be much more user-friendly with more reporting capabilities.
Chose Microsoft Dynamics GP
Because GP doesn't do CRM we have looked at D365 Customer Engagement for our field service, and F&O as a replacement. Vaporware, no direct upgrade path, and if you want to continue with GP for your back office and just use Field Service it's an insanely complex integration …
Chose Microsoft Dynamics GP
At the time of purchase, Microsoft Dynamics GP seemed more appropriate and more in sync with the needs of our company. The software was more responsive, user-friendly and it allowed for more flexibility with the way it was intended to be used. We were also promised better …
Chose Microsoft Dynamics GP
I have pitched GP against every competitor in the market - NetSuite, PeopleSoft, Sage, SAP, Oracle, Quickbooks. This product is a mid-market solution and is geared toward standard accounting practice-type companies. If you do not have the sufficient level of accounting …
NetSuite ERP
Chose NetSuite ERP
I used Microsoft Dynamics 365 for several years at my prior company, and I would probably give NetSuite ERP the slight edge over Microsoft Dynamics. Netsuite is a little cleaner, easier to use and more customizable. We really appreciate the ongoing customer support from …
Chose NetSuite ERP
Netsuite offers as much, if not more, than the competitors. The price modules can vary, and I find NetSuite's less transparent. However, we chose Netsuite for the investments they were making and the SCA web integration to ERP, not many have that function. The NetSuite/Oracle …
Chose NetSuite ERP
Nestuite is more suitable for bigger organizations at growth and scale stages with at least two subsidiaries that want to integrate lots of software tools.
Chose NetSuite ERP
NetSuite ERP only offers a cloud model, vs. BC's on-prem and cloud models. However, this is not necessarily a bad thing. If you're deploying on-prem you may find yourself introducing all kinds of needless complexity you later regret. NetSuite ERP came fully-featured and remains …
Chose NetSuite ERP
Netsuite ERP is by far a superior product.
Chose NetSuite ERP
NetSuite ERP is the most mature of the 100% cloud based solution. Although I believe NetSuite ERP Professional Services and Support are relatively horrible, the NetSuite customer community is very strong. I'm always able to find instances of other customers experiencing the …
Chose NetSuite ERP
NS much more modern and easily extensible.
Chose NetSuite ERP
NetSuite ERP is user friendly and allows for us to implement and deploy solutions without much help from the IT department. It also is a "fluid" solution that utilizes a relational database which allows for transactions and records to be connected.
Chose NetSuite ERP
NetSuite ERP is leaps and bounds above their competitors in both functionality and design.
Chose NetSuite ERP
NetSuite is a massive enterprise-grade ERP system that expertly manages a global organization's financials. My organization has offices in many different countries, and NetSuite provides a superior infrastructure that manages multi-currency journal entries with ease and also …
Chose NetSuite ERP

Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is well suited for inventory management in all aspects. Its accessibility, along with my other apps, when out of the office is unparalleled. I find it easy to work with on a desktop or laptop; however, it could use some work on a mobile device.

Microsoft Dynamics GP is well-suited for our environment, as we pay a diverse group of employees, including on-the-road drivers, shop employees (some in other locations), and office employees. It easily tracks time off, taxes, pay, etc. The reporting allows us to verify with our drivers how they are paid each week, whether it be through mileage or stop-offs.

Well-suited for invoice processing, generation, report building, and searches. I also like the fixed asset management tool; however, one area there I wish were a little more user-friendly. changing the asset type or department without having to create a bunch of JE's and doing transfers. For the most part, though, NetSuite is very user-friendly, and I can complete most tasks without issues.

Pros
Microsoft
  • Automate the creation of bills of materials for production. We can now generate a BoM from a sales order.
  • Organization of all data pertaining to thousands of parts, assemblies, and finished goods. Engineering and purchasing have a common portal.
  • We can create sales orders from quotations instead of re-entering them (this did require some bolt-on software). Less redundant work with fewer entry errors.
  • Accounting can provide reports based on specific criteria stored in NAV. We can pull better and more detailed intelligence.

  • Great Plains started as back office/accounting, and that is still it's strong suit.
  • SQL and the GP programming language, Dexterity, provide a robust, scalable, and stable platform with well documented maintenance and repair procedures. Relatively easy to manage, tune, and support.
  • Microsoft support for GP verges on "particularly well". Doesn't quite get there but good enough once you know what you're doing
  • Strong partner network, including the GP User Group (GPUG)

Cons
Microsoft
  • Some functions could be a bit more user friendly, intuitive.
  • Better migration from previous ERP software (especially other Microsoft products). "Growing pains" associated with change?! Maybe.
  • A few redundancies and procedural missteps on menus and tabs can make the portal a bit crowded.

  • With respect to the allocations, once the expense is entered into the allocation account, you lose the ability to run any detail on just the total of the expense. It would be nice if you could run a trial balance on the allocation accounts the same way you can with regular accounts.
  • I've always thought security set up could be a bit simpler. It actually has gotten better through the years. Specifically, with eight separate entities, it would be nice to have a "master" setup where you could call up one group entity, assign the users rights, and then be finished. Currently, whenever I have a new user, I have to call up each individual entity and select all of the features I want the user to have. That means I have to do eight steps for each user.

  • More in-built reports can be added. Existing reports are not having all the details in granular level that we need for financial reporting,
  • Support can be improvised, as all the support tickets are taking more time to resolve.
  • More customisation required with scripting to generate user specific reports.

We've already decided to continue using this software. It is too expensive for us to upgrade so we made a workaround by using the virtual computer with Windows XP installed on it. We did research replacing this software, but it was a better financial decision to keep what we had instead

Due the economic challenges that Puerto Rico is having, the company has had to merge some companies in order to be more efficient. It has been easy in GP to process those merges, even thought we had to spend days to accomplish that the process was smooth and accurate. In addition we were able to streamline the purchasing and sales process and the organization is confident to keep renewing GP for the future versions.

NetSuite is able to cover all of our needs, spanning multiple departments and managerial levels. Microsoft
Best in terms of reporting or coming up with a great dashboard. Seamlessly collaborated with teams without depending on particular device as its web version is the buddy for people with work flexibility. Licensing price and integrations can be the areas of improvement and can simplify the interface which will be easy for a new user.

Though it is a basic accounting package, I believe some users do not find the old style menus and navigation options intuitive. There is also a great lack of training resources in the market, so users have to learn the product without guidance a lot, resulting in inefficient workflows and misuse or misunderstanding of many features.

NetSuite is a cloud tool, and is easy to implement for mid-sized organizations. It comes with standard forms/ printing layouts, and financial reporting (both summary and detailed), which are very handy for business users. In addition to these, with 99.99% service availability, NetSuite makes it one of the most reliable ERP tools available on the market.

I would like to give 8 rating for NetSuite support and reason for that is below: Whenever we faced any technical or functional issues we tried to reach out to NEtSuite support but response was not immediate. We told them about the urgency of the issue but still we were not getting response on time. Then, we have to reach out to AE to get things resolved.

I felt NetSuite Professional Services did an excellent job of guiding us in the implementation. I also felt our internal teams were a little resistant to the change and engagement of new software. Had we performed better engaging and buying into the new software, I would be able to rate the implementation better. Therefore, the lower number should not be viewed as a deficiency with the software or the professional services teams, but as an reminder of how important complete buy-in from the local users is.

I have personally supported all of the Dynamic family of ERP systems and made the decision to concentrate on NAV as the solution of choice. From a support and development standpoint there are few if any packages that can compare. It is not uncommon for most of the companies that I support to only call me once or twice a month after the first year. This is due to the ease of tracking down problems and errors and the ability for a developer to provide the end-user with routines that automatically correct the most basic kind of error

If someone calls stating they paid an invoice with a certain check number, we can quickly run a query to find that particular check number to see where it was applied.
  • Having everything on a single platform provides ease of use for upgrades, backups and end user training. There is only one software to learn!
