Likelihood to Recommend

ON24

ON24 is great for webcasts where there are participants that might be hard of hearing. The seamlessness of the closed captions/event monitoring is very helpful in ensuring that our presentations are accessible to everyone. ON24 is also great for presentations where audience members need to have the resources connected to the presentation on hand during the presentation. The widgets really help the webcasts come to life and I'm excited to see what upgrades ON24 has in store concerning new widget capabilities.

Whova

Whova is an economical and easy to use application for companies on a budget or those who need flexibility. They were able to accommodate our conference being internal and thus not having a paid ticketing component. If you need to change registrants' information often or on a large scale, it may be frustrating for event managers within the Whova dashboard (at this time).

  • The Simulive webinar format is a game changer for our company. The majority of our KOLs have very hectic work schedules with seeing patients and Simu-live allows us to pre-record webinars at any time convenient for our speakers and then broadcast the recording at a later date as if it were a live presentation.
  • The engagement hub allows our previously recorded webinars to retain their initial value and makes it easy for both future and returning webinar subscribers to watch all of our content in one central location.
  • All of our webinar registrants are synced in our Salesforce CRM in unique campaigns for easy tracking and ROI reporting.

  • Communication platform was easy to use and fun as well.
  • The agenda for my conference was easy to find and easier to use.
  • I enjoyed being able to see who else was attending the conference and this was great because it goes right back to communication!
  • Registering for the video meetings was incredibly easy to do and then get back to when the time came. I also was able to get reminders that a class was starting!

  • video size is really really small. I know it's all related to bandwidth, but slightly bigger would be great.
  • the technical support folks, those in the chat section, sometimes seem to struggle with English. Communication is sometimes a challenge. They are friendly and work hard, but the chat experience is often frustrating.

  • Agenda design options are limited. There are more things you can't do than you can do to the agenda.
  • Buggy -- does not work on iPads in vertical orientation.
  • Customer support is limited.
  • Don't expect to cancel an event and get your money back. I had clients decline the application after 1 week (months before the event)-- and Whova refused to issue a refund.
  • Whova branding is overpowering. Everything has Whova branding all over it. Your brand barely exists. Not one email has your brand on it and customers/moderators/speakers do not realize who Whova is or why they got the email. These emails need the ability to be modified.
  • Customer messaging goes out without warning and most messages cannot be modified.
  • Sponsor/Exhibitors is a half-baked implementation of a beautiful idea. Unfortunately, Exhibitors cannot see what their page looks like when done, so you have to send them a screenshot, thus obliterating the promised efficiency that you hoped to gain. You have to set up all sponsors manually. This needs to be a simple checkbox in the exhibitor area.

We have been with 0n24 for almost 5 years, every time we had an issues they have helped us find a solution. I still have not seen another option on the market that can deliver the type of experience I can craft with On24. We have no reason to switch

Usability

For the most part, I feel On24 usability is extremely easy. Having the 3-hour training with an expert is very helpful, but I feel confident I could navigate the console and figure out how things work - although it might take me longer than 3 hours to do. I should probably add: The training is broken up into 3 separate training's so you aren't sitting on a phone call with an On24 person for 3 hours straight. If you are unsure how your webinar will go, On24 offers Moderator assistance and will have an On24 technician on the live webinar with you. We used this a few times and it has definitely calmed our nerves. I did not give a "10" because as previously mentioned, there are still a few kinks to work out with the product.

It has extremely limited customization; it is buggy; it sends stray emails you do not know are being sent and that are not customized, leaving your clients/speakers/moderators confused. The Exhibitor and Sponsor sections are considered separate functions but are similarly set up and have different sub charges. Exhibitors can set up their own pages but Sponsors cannot. Neither can see what their page looks like unless you do it for them. There is no need for these areas to be separate--it's not like my sales team has a different sales rep for sponsor banners and exhibits. These areas need to be combined and they need to have a way to preview their setup. Having the Exhibitor be able to set up their own page is a HUGE benefit, but it's only half-baked in its implementation. It is a HUGE disappointment once you figure out the limitations eliminate the benefit.

With these changes came some unforeseen turnover, leaving us without a employee who knew how to operate ON24. Can't even think how many times myself or another associate would call in, and no matter how small or big the question, we always were helped in a fast and easy way.

I've contacted On24 about 10 times over the 4 years we've been working with them with mostly minor issues and I've called their emergency support number 1 time when a speakers audio was acting up.Every time I get a response the same day (or immediately with the call) and my problems are taken care of right away.The support requests appear to go to someone who has the power to help me every time and they know what they are doing and what they are talking about. They definitely care about my success and want to ensure everything goes well.

It was a great experience. A last minute change for our organization that has a conference every other year. I was disappointed that the conference was not going to happen this year. Then didn't expect much when it was changed to an online conference. What a surprise. It was great! So much more than I expected.

I would highly reccomend the trainings and reading the documents they have created. They also do live webinars on a rolling basis that are filled with so much knowledge and Information

Whova

As I mentioned, Whova is the best online events organizer platform I used so far and its functions outweigh the other 2 platforms I indicated above, with the pros I mentioned earlier. Zoom and MS 365 business are excellent online meeting platforms but lack the "organization" function Whova has. You can network thru chat and create break out rooms but I feel Whova has advantage to accommodate bigger number of participants.

  • We have continued to build relationships with our current clients and gain trust by providing them with free educational presentations on topics relevant to their business.
  • We have been able to generate more information to our members by presenting on some of the other services that we have, and through that, being able to expand our client base through osmosis.

  • I didn't pay to use the technology; was a recipient as a result of attending a conference. HIGH ROI for me as a made a number of new contacts even though I spent the first full day listening to presentations. Having the app allowed me to do the networking I came to do without having to be seated next to the person I wanted to meet.
