Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Absorb to host and track completion of onboarding training for entry-level roles, compliance training for all levels, and completions for eLearning and on-the-job training for manager training programs. We have 7000+ frontline employees and over 1500 store managers that use the platform to complete mandatory and optional training. We also offer optional professional development eLearning, through a connection to Skillsoft's Business Library, for our managers and corporate headquarters employees.

Pros

  • Our system admins are able to easily train on the platform and complete their tasks in a relatively intuitive manner.
  • We are able to brand our pages to fit our brand standards.
  • Absorb provides relatively low friction for users.

Cons

  • The feature we use for on-the-job training checklists is cumbersome for both admins and, more problematically, for users. They need to click through several screens to check off on skills.
  • I'd like to see more options for AI-assisted career pathing and listing of courses by role.
  • Absorb connects with Skillsoft, but the process for integration was costly and took a lot of time.

Return on Investment

  • With Absorb, we were able to standardize and streamline our onboarding process for frontline hires. With a population of 7000+ employees and turnover rate over 100%, this was critical for saving site managers' time and increasing our service standards. While not solely responsible, I believe that the LMS launch helped reduce our turnover by 20% within 5 years.
  • Absorb allowed us to standardize our management training program and track compliance. We were able to add accountability to a program that previously had none and ensured that we could train enough managers to keep pace with growth.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Absorb LMS for organizational learning and serve all internal employees for onboarding, compliance, role-based & voluntary learning using all course types such as Online Courses, Instructor-Led Courses, and complex learning paths (Curricula). We have business-owned learning content within a defined governance framework. Next, we will focus more on the manager experience, improve reporting & compliance, and also analytics.

Pros

  • Overall, Absorb LMS is pretty easy to use for learners and especially for admins. It's practical to create and manage course content - it provides the most crucial options and yet is lean enough not to overcomplicate the admin's life. The consistent and customizable "table-view" in most of the admin-areas is very helpful and easy to follow.
  • Using Enrollment Rules, Absorb LMS let you define who a course applies to and how they get enrolled. You can build rules based on learner attributes, such as department, location job role, group, to include or exclude specific audiences. The way Absorb LMS is using enrollment attributes, no other LMS actually can fulfill our requirements easier. Enrollment rules are mainly embedded in individual course options (you can also create scheduled enrollments outside of the courses).

Cons

  • Absorb LMS falls behind a couple other LMS that are very strong in AI-specific special approaches (such as AI-agents) that are in place already within competitors but Absorb LMS has announced promising AI agents (for learners and admins) for 2026 so we're very excited.
  • Very slow handling of public-facing ideas portal for feature requests.
  • Premium features add cost: add-ons like "together" (new coaching module) and others, require separate packages/licensing. On the other hand, Absorb LMS's model keeps the main LMS feature more affordable in comparison to other LMS providers.

Return on Investment

  • Absorb LMS has made a real difference in how smoothly we run training. By automating enrollments and standardizing how we assign key courses, we spend much less time on manual admin and chasing people for completions. Onboarding is also easier now because required learning paths live in one place, so our New Hires ramp up faster, and managers get fewer “what does my team need to take?” questions. The biggest win is simply having cleaner, more reliable data when we need it for reporting or audits.
  • From a global quality and standardization point of view, Absorb LMS has been the backbone for scaling learning without things turning into chaos. It has helped us bring more structure and governance, so we can actually see what’s being created, who it is meant for, and whether the right settings are in place. That means a better experience for learners (less noise, more relevant assignments) and more confidence for the business that our training records are accurate and easy to validate.

I love how it is easy to use Absorb LMS with User-friendly interface. The absorb academy enables learners to study and get certification upon completion of their studies, which is recognized by most institutions. It offers reliable reports and real-time insights on career development. The customer support team is proactive with timely responses when prompted with any question.

Pros

  • The course builder makes it easy for our training team to develop new courses on the fly, allowing for more flexibility with ongoing training needs.
  • Having the platform fully optimized for mobile devices allows our employees who work in the field to complete training at more convenient times. They can pause trainings without losing their place, which was not possible with our old system.
  • It is much easier for managers to keep track of training completion.

Cons

  • Some of the visual customization options were a bit tricky and hard to find within the settings. Our implementation project manager, Jordan Wolf, was able to assist us, but more intuitive user interfaces could help resolve this issue.

  • The modules our training department has been able to create in absorb have been leaps and bounds beyond what we were able to accomplish with previous tools. Absorb LMS makes it easier to achieve our vision for training.

We're using Absorb as our Learning Management System for a geographically dispersed global organization with more than 20,000 employees. We are the largest parking operator in North America, with multiple roles and employee levels. We use the system for scheduled compliance enrollments, leadership development, manager observations, and larger-scale learning experience programs. The reporting to support these multiple use cases has been extremely helpful.
