What is Atera?

Atera is presented as an Agentic AI platform for IT management, that offers a digital workforce of AI agents that proactively and autonomously support entire IT operations. Atera’s all-in-one IT management platform consolidates RMM, helpdesk, ticketing, and automation, so IT teams and MSPs can manage and protect infrastructure, automate tasks, and boost service quality by reducing downtime and improving SLAs.

Atera has shifted focus from automation to AI-powered autonomy in IT. With Atera's AI agents, IT teams can offload repetitive tasks, resolve issues faster, and focus on strategy rather than fix/break or firefighting. Atera states they maintain responsible AI frameworks, ensuring their AI agents can be a trusted extension of any IT team.

IT Autopilot is Atera’s patented always-on AI agent that acts as a 24/7/365 IT technician. It cuts down on IT workload and acts like a personal AI technician for every employee. It offers an enterprise-grade, personalized and secure IT service desk support, not just responding to, but autonomously resolving their IT issues. Plus, Atera states its early-adopters have said it’s also quite polite.

Atera boasts users among over 13K customers in 120+ countries.

The Most Exceptional IT Solution With Brilliant Automation

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Atera to manage and monitor our IT infrastructure from our devices ,network ,servers and workstations all in one place .This tool makes work much easier ,without it our IT teams would use different tools for remote access, patch management ,alerts and ticketing which makes workflows time consuming and disorganized but Atera play an important roles of combining everything in one tool which also helps the team to give fast support .We appreciate the remote access feature which works smooth and allow the IT team to fix problems quickly without disrupting daily work especially for the people working remotely .Also with Atera we are able to schedule automations and execute them with ease.

Pros

  • Centralized monitoring
  • Ticketing tracking and communication
  • Real time alerting
  • Patch management
  • Remote access ,monitoring and management
  • Tasks automation

Cons

  • Would suggest more flexible pricing
  • Needs to expand what devices it can manage as it focuses more on computers and servers .Should also handle devices like tablets and POS systems.

Atera is an amazing value and a force multiplier

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Being the only person in the IT dept currently, it is important that I be able to streamline everything I can. Atera lets me act as multiple people with it's scripting and monitoring engines. I need to know about problems before they become a larger issue for the users. Additionally, the AI features allow me to complete tasks faster than I would have been able to otherwise.

Pros

  • Support, if you need them they are there and they always have the answers you need.
  • The AI scripting features allow you to really hit the ground running. You can give it a prompt and it will give you a script that will be very close to what you need. All you have to do is polish it up and test it out.
  • I love having the ability to use multiple remote access tools, in the event a machine has an issue with one of them, or if a cloud service goes down, you have a fallback.
  • The shared script library is an amazing resource for troubleshooting and streamlining.
  • The development teams are open to adding features and have done so frequently based on user requests.

Cons

  • The ticketing feature is usable, but still needs improvement. The inability to attach a user to multiple machines is, in my opinion, a questionable design choice. You are able to attach multiple users to a single machine though.
  • The AI features are a great starting point but frequently miss the mark on giving you a fully working script that you can just deploy. You will always need to test and troubleshoot them.
  • I think the shared script library is a mess of incomplete and poorly documented scripts.

Return on Investment

  • Onboarding was a breeze. Completed myself in about a week with some support requests. Very easy to get configured how you want it up front.
  • Atera is a force multiplier, I am able to act as a team by leveraging automation and scripting to fix issues before the user notices them.
  • There are some quirks in the interface that require you to jump through hoops to get what you need done.

Great value and can provide support immediately

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We used Atera as our RMM tool to connect to our customers and document their assets (mostly PC's and printers) it was a very easy way for us to connect to customers on a different domain where we did not have access to without a laptop connected to their domain or perhaps some sort of VPN. With Atera we could just support team quickly without having to hassle with multiple different pieces of software.

Cons

  • UI was a bit cluttered but has since received an update

Return on Investment

  • Setup time was very short which allowed us to start support instantly
  • Device discovery and remote management was exactly what we needed
