Rippling is a great investment 8/10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I am the Human Resources Coordinator for the organization. While the software has IT and Financial features, the organization only utizlies the HR functionality of the software. We have since switched our corporate cards to the Rippling Finance/Cards, but most of our usage is strictly HR functions only.

Pros

  • Payroll processing
  • Job and pay changes
  • Calculating retropay
  • Reviews/feedback
  • Expenses/Reimbursements
  • Training/education
  • Helpdesk/Customer support

Cons

  • Password resets - admins should be able to reset passwords for users
  • Reporting - i can pull the same report twice and get two completely different outputs
  • Less dependency on AI. The Rippling on the Road 2026 felt like an AI positive brainwashing session. It felt like we were being forced to learn about/utilize AI functionality within the software. We need to depend on computers less as a society. Its dumbing us as a civilization.

Return on Investment

  • Faster hiring process w/ integration w/ Checkr - has doubled our orientation class group size
  • Easier reviews/promotions/salary increases
  • More accurate timekeeping

Modern Optimized Dynamic and Scalable

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Rippling has already made a big impact on our environment just in allowing us to consolidate all of our employees from multiple countries/regions into one platform vs managing through separate vendors. And we are also able to use Rippling as our EOR for contractor users, which is another huge benefit!

Rippling has also enabled us to finally leverage HRIS-as-master functionality with our IdP. This is going to be huge in streamlining and automating our user lifecycle processes, significantly reducing manual tedium and multiple layers of required human validation. Big time savings there that will help us redirect bandwidth towards innovating and scaling.

We have already been diving deep into using their Workflow Studio to build out other user lifecycle process automations that we had not been able to do before because of disconnected systems. Even more time back in our day!

Pros

  • Very granular criteria for creating dynamic groups that can sync down to our IdP and other baseline apps.
  • Modern, user-friendly, and intuitive navigation for users and admins. Our old system was very difficult to navigate, and Rippling is so much cleaner, cohesive, and pleasant to work in.
  • Workflow Studio that enables taking the already streamlined experience to another level. We can now automate our onboarding emails with flexibility to tailor different templates based on new hire criteria. Optimizes comms between IT and HR for user lifecycle events.

Cons

  • While they have a lot of available app integrations, there is room to expand. Also, some of the app integrations seem to require that your plan or subscription is transferred/purchased through Rippling in order to unlock full integration capabilities.
  • The limitation of 10 active "advanced" workflows (workflows that are triggered by anything other than "Relative to Start Date") is a little disappointing. It would be nice to have more "advanced" workflows to really boost a company's automations.
  • The Rippling IT offering is appealing as far as seamless integration with the rest of the product suite, but it lacks the granularity of custom settings needed for mid-level to enterprise security settings.

Return on Investment

  • Being able to create dynamic app/IdP sync groups is going to empower our IT to save hours of time having to tediously maintain groups with limited rule-based assignments.
  • Workflow Studio automations around new hire onboarding is also going to save our People Ops and IT hours and bandwidth with onboarding tasks and communications, avoiding missed tasks and other mistakes. Reduces points of failure because of the flexibility of configuration for the automations to account for various scenarios.
  • Using Rippling as the provisioning source for day 1 baseline apps is also going to help streamline the user experience, allowing them to ramp up within a day rather than a whole week.

Fast and intuitive

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

In my role at my organization I use Rippling for keeping track of my time off and upcoming time off, keeping track of my pay, accessing health and retirement benefits, signing documents, and looking at corporate charts to see who reports to who and ensuring that information is accurate. I also use it for my flexible savings account.

Pros

  • Keeping track of and entering time off and watching time of approvals
  • Providing fast links to access accounts for health/retirement benefits
  • Extremely convenient access to see how much money is left in my flexible savings account and reordering a new card if I need one

Cons

  • Sometimes finding certain documents can be a challenge without a search bar that analyzes words within the document
  • It would be nice if I got notifications for new updates made by the company to my benefits (an employee left, a new benefit has change, my pay has changed, etc.)
  • That third party authorization through authy is a bit annoying to go through every time I log in, I would love to just login with my username and password and that's it

Return on Investment

  • As an individual contributor we have not used Rippling yet in terms of goal calculation and it would be nice to see where I'm at for my bonus payout
  • Many employees are very happy having Rippling compared to their other HR softwares at previous jobs which helps retention
  • Documentation that needs to be signed is much easier to track as opposed to tracking documentation through simple emails

Rippling A must have for contractors who works with oversea employees.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Since I live in Brazil and my employer is based in the U.S., Rippling helps significantly with multi-country payroll. It automatically converts amounts to my local currency, and I can easily manage how much to withdraw, when to withdraw it, and which bank account to receive it in. It also lets me upload invoices and leave requests, and view all my colleagues from the organization I work with.

Pros

  • Multi-country payment.
  • Invoice generation.
  • HR organization.
  • Security checks and warnings.

Cons

  • Some unnecessary menus that could be merged together.
  • Easiness to access receipts from payments received.
  • Nothing more.

Return on Investment

  • It was great to receive money from other country.
  • It was very helpful to use an user friendly platform for my first oversea job.
  • It was great to keep track of the amount of money I've received for the time I was employed overseas.

Rippling for a LMS and On Boarding perspective

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I use Rippling mainly for the LMS function, which allows us to create e-learning content for our staff, and gives us one source of truth for all media, video, webinar, and e-learning content. I worked on setting up the LMS part of the system and would use it to build e-learning daily for different departments in the business and for onboarding new team members.

Pros

  • It is really easy to navigate, I barely needed instruction on how to do things in it as it is very intuitive.
  • Ease of workflow mapping, it was easy to have emails auto-generated to our staff regarding their eLearn content or compliance requirements.
  • Onboarding was made much easier with the workflows, auto emails sent at different points in the onboarding process, ensuring everything gets done to prepare the company to accept the new hire and to inform the new hire of what to expect.

Cons

  • The overall look and feel of Rippling is dated; it looks like it's straight out of the 00's.
  • The could be more functionality in the LMS, expanded features, more options, it works, and it's basic, but it could be really great with a few added features.
  • The shift from using people's personal email to log in to their work email, not everyone wants to use their personal information to log into a work system.

Return on Investment

  • It has made onboarding new staff much quicker, easier, and more efficient. Saving time and money with hiring managers and HR staff.
  • It has cut down the time required for HR/TA staff to handhold new team members in their new role.
  • It has given us a place for one source of truth when it comes to video or learning content, meaning we can grandfather other systems we were using for that.
