Overall Satisfaction with Atlassian Confluence

We use Atlassian Confluence in conjunction with Jira to keep track of development documentation. We create our roadmaps and product briefs in Atlassian Confluence and create links between Atlassian Confluence and Jira. This helps us easily communicate the big picture associated with any Jira issue. We also keep records of our development processes and workflows in Atlassian Confluence, because it is easy to organize and search.

Pros

  • Search
  • Linking with Jira
  • Sharing
  • Communicating with stakeholders
  • Collaborating

Cons

  • Training
  • Team pages vs Project pages can be confusing
  • Atlassian Confluence speeds up development time
  • Atlassian Confluence makes it possible to quickly onboard new employees, since they can easily search and find relevant documentation
  • Atlassian Confluence reduces repeat work and unfocused efforts
Atlassian Confluence is simple to set up and start using. It is very flexible, but that can also make it difficult to set up. I think that if we had an expert help us set it up we could be more efficient with it, but figuring out how you want to structure the system can be somewhat overwhelming.
Atlassian Confluence integrates completely with Jira, which is what we use as a company, so it made sense to use Atlassian Confluence as well.

Do you think Atlassian Confluence delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Atlassian Confluence's feature set?

Yes

Did Atlassian Confluence live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Atlassian Confluence go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Atlassian Confluence again?

Yes

Atlassian Confluence is a great system for facilitating communication between Product Management and Development, as well as internal development communication. It's major strength is that it is part of the Atlassian ecosystem and is fully integrated with Jira. I would recommend it for anyone that needs to coordinate between multiple teams and keep track of additional information outside of Jira.
