Overall Satisfaction with ClickUp

ClickUp is being used across several teams within our Production Department. We make software and have teams that focus on design, writing, art, audio, video, marketing, etc. It is our task management system and we also use it to share designs and files.

Pros

  • It's pretty versatile. You can make it do most of what you need.
  • It's pretty easy to communicate with team members through it.

Cons

  • The browser-based version is often slow and/or unresponsive; I need to refresh a lot.
  • I wish there were better high-level visuals; Gantt charts etc aren't quite there yet. The portfolio feature is clunky.
  • It's difficult to quantify things like this.
  • I feel we need more time using the product as a company to answer that question.
Trello is simple and better for the budget-conscious, but it lacks a lot of the functionality of ClickUp. ProdPad is more for road mapping than task management. Jira wasn't viewed super favorably by many of our employees who had used it elsewhere.
I appreciate that I hear from ClickUp fairly often, and it seems they are constantly making improvements and releasing new updates.

We use it for task management, bug tracking, and a bit of road mapping. At times, I wonder if it's trying to be too much to too many people. But with most tools like this, it's less about the tool and more about an organization's buy-in and committed use.
