Overall Satisfaction with ClickUp

We use ClickUp to organize work and document processes for departments across the whole org. We also use it with partners and have lists set up as shared places where we can collaborate. We use forms for submitting requests to different departments and automation to take away some of the heavy lifting of day-to-day tasks. We also use the Zapier integration to bring in tasks from other systems like HubSpot and WooCommerce.
  • Flexibility/customizability
  • Search is fantastic
  • Docs is so good it makes me never want to use Word again for outlining process or taking notes
  • Customizable statuses and custom fields make ClickUp adaptable to any department
  • Slash commands make formatting docs and text descriptions a breeze
  • Notifications have tons of granular customization and are very organized and have a lot of functionality.
  • Workload and calendar views make capacity planning much easier.
  • Speed. The UI can be kind of slow sometimes.
  • Reporting is pretty good, but some types of reports just aren't possible. Some dates fields can't be mapped to the X axis.
  • The UI can be a bit busy and makes it a harder for lighter users to adopt.
  • Whiteboards just aren't there yet.
  • Collaboration is much easier
  • Visibility into what teams are working on is way better than it was before
  • Collaboration with partners using guest accounts is fantastic
  • Forms and approval processes are very easy to implement and make handing inter-departmental request much easier saving time.
ClickUp started as a tool for the marketing team as employees were beginning to work remote. Now we have a mostly remote workforce and nearly every department uses ClickUp. We are able to collaborate in Team by sharing task links, tagging people in task comments, and we can outline documentation or processes in task descriptions or Docs for more complex use cases.
ClickUp does a good job of replacing many apps, but their whiteboards functionality is limited and can't compete with the likes of LucidChart, Draw.io, and Miro. I'd like to see that improve. It's a boon for our organization that we don't need separate PM apps for office admin tasks and IT/Developement teams. We don't need bug tracking software because we can log everything in ClickUp.
ClickUp ultimately has more customizablility and bells and whistles like time tracking, adding tasks to mulitple lists, custom fields, calculated fields, reporting, mulitple task views, private tasks/lists/folders/etc., request forms, automation, shortcuts and slash commands, ClickApps for turning functionality on or off depending on needs, and so much more.

Do you think ClickUp delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with ClickUp's feature set?

Yes

Did ClickUp live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of ClickUp go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy ClickUp again?

Yes

ClickUp is so flexibile that I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it for nearly any business. Where I think it is misused is when businesse us it as a CRM replacement. It may suffice for a small business and basic needs, but I don't think it's a scalable solution for a CRM. Things get messy fast. As a project management tool, it's amazing.
