Overall Satisfaction with Hootsuite

I work in the travel and tourism industry, specifically in marketing. Social media and content are a major part of my job, and I needed an all-in-one scheduling software with a mobile app. I used Hootsuite last year for social media scheduling. I initially gravitated towards the program because I was looking for a platform with AI capabilities. Unfortunately, I left the platform because the number of bugs I had to deal with wasn’t worth the cost.

Pros

  • Scheduling
  • Organizing
  • Interface is pretty self explanatory.

Cons

  • AI features being credit based, wish it was 100% included in the pricing.
  • I remember dealing with a lot of random bugs that were overall annoying.
Hootsuite worked when it wanted to. I’m going to be honest and say, there were a few times when I had to manually schedule posts via the social media platform. To me, that’s a no-no if I’m specifically paying for a platform to do that. It works, but doesn’t wow. I think in terms of better software for the price, there definitely is one.
First, we were limited to the number of accounts for our plan. So, number one: if a platform is limiting, is it really helping ensure brand consistency? I wouldn’t say Hootsuite's features made this easy. It gave us the option, but it was limited by our plan.
During my research for a new platform, I noticed it was on many lists of top platforms, but, as I said before, I just wasn’t impressed. I definitely don’t think Hootsuite leads the social networking platform industry. I’d give that spot to Sprout Social. I think all of these platforms need to be more accessible anyway, which is why I gravitate towards platforms that give you full access for one price. That’s a platform I’d trust.

Do you think Hootsuite delivers good value for the price?

No

Are you happy with Hootsuite's feature set?

No

Did Hootsuite live up to sales and marketing promises?

No

Did implementation of Hootsuite go as expected?

No

Would you buy Hootsuite again?

No

It’s less appropriate for my industry due to pricing. Budgets in my industry are pretty small, so this specific platform needed to be a knock-out, out-of-the-park if we were going to continue investing in it. We found that it was unfortunately definitely not worth the squeeze in my industry. But it could possibly have the potential.

Evaluating Hootsuite and Competitors

Yes - Replaced with Zoho marketing.
  • Integration with Other Systems
  • Ease of Use
Pricing was honestly the single most important factor.
Nothing comes to mind
