Overall Satisfaction with Insightly

We're currently actively using Insightly in the sales department and marketing department. In the sales department, we're tracking new accounts through Leads, Opportunities, and Tasks. In the marketing department, we're gradually adding existing accounts to Contacts and Organizations as well as tracking all of our projects through Projects and Tasks. Our stakeholders are also beginning to use Insightly Reports and are finding the new advanced reporting to be much more helpful than the standard reports. At this time, we're preparing to roll out the use of Opportunities and Tasks by all team members to track new business for all accounts. This transition will help us get all of our business in one place and improve our ability to effectively forecast, etc. We're also exploring Insightly's ability to integrate with certain tools (including Zapier) to streamline even more.
  • Help Center and Customer Support
  • Advanced Reporting
  • Insightly has a lot of half baked functionality. For example, in the Contact Records Dates to Remember section, important dates can be added but not reported on. IMO one of the most valuable uses of the Dates to Remember feature would be to report on which clients are celebrating an important date. At this time, you have to leave Insightly and manually sort through your Google Calendar (assuming it synchs with Insightly).
  • As another example, the Events feature does not give the user control over the ownership of the Event. A user cannot build an Event for another user.
  • The ability to assign a Task to a team is great (especially the ability to assign a "Single Task For Entire Team" or "Task For Each Team Member"). However, if a user builds a Task for a team where they're not a member, the Task still displays on the user's task list. And, the "Assigned To" displays "Nobody Yet" despite the team assignment.
  • Increased Sales
  • Improved efficiency
  • Centralized contact management
  • Streamlined business processes
We're working on it. I'm confident that Insightly will help us achieve these goals.
The company I was with previously switched to Zoho CRM and seemed to be very happy with it. Though I have limited experience with Zoho CRM, it is definitely an alternative I would consider. Salesforce is the champagne of CRMs, it's way more expensive than we would be able to afford but certainly a point of comparison.
We're grandfathered in to a very inexpensive version of Insightly ($49/mo for 15 users). At the point that we are forced to upgrade, I would definitely look into other options as I find myself regularly frustrated with Insightly's half baked development. However, in general, I find Insightly to be fairly intuitive and customizable and well rated for small business and I have appreciated Insightly's attentive customer support.
