Insightly is a great basic CRM that fits most business models.

Overall Satisfaction with Insightly

We were using it for the CRM and marketing feature. It helped that we didn't have to manually add data into our marketing platform separately from our CRM and everything was connected. Plus we didn't have a good solution for client management before Insightly other than excel worksheets.

Pros

  • Easy access and view to client data
  • Basic features connecting email to client info
  • identifying and merging duplicates

Cons

  • set up of the pipelines/projects was definitely hard to manage and get the full team involved in training
  • tasks added up and was very overwhelming.
  • would have liked a better document management built in system other than a connector to one drive
  • the good thing is that it provided basic ways to track engagements and current services
  • the bad thing is that when dealing with high volume, the kanban view had limits and we had to use a less favorable list view
i do believe that it is fairly user friendly. However, with the amount of customizability, which is a lot, it can get very overwhelming and then difficult to properly set up the system the way you intend it to work. There are also some automations that don't quite work the way you want it to due to functionality constraints, therefore, we had to use work arounds to sort of make it work or not use it at all.
this was one of the few platforms that allowed our CRM data to flow into marketing and it was fantastic to do it all in one platform. The unfortunate part was that there was no real way to organize leads from actual clients as we handle both client marketing and lead marketing. This made organization difficult and we had to find unique ways to track everything as we connected the data to flow between the two.
We transitioned away from NetSuite to Insightly and it was a significant upgrade as we do not have programming capabilities. Unfortunately, we need a document management system as we handle large volumes of all types of data and Insightly came up short. We switched to TaxDome as they assist with specifically tax accounting firms and that fit our model better than Insightly.

If you business is very basic and has a high emphasis on typical sales, this platform is great. it helps with easy marketing as well as client management. It may not fit models that are more service based.
