Overall Satisfaction with Mailchimp

Our company has used Mailchimp for the last 7+ years as our primary email marketing vehicle. We've used it to manage various customer communications across numerous customer types.
  • List management is a breeze.
  • Automation sequences are easy to set up from scratch or via templates.
  • The campaign builder is easy to use to build visually stunning emails.
  • It's not easy for less technically skilled people to integrate with specific e-commerce platforms.
  • User website/ activity tracking is not as robust as some other providers in the space.
  • Helped us grow our subscriber base.
  • Helped book event registrations.
  • Provided a simple, easy to use means by which to connect with our customers.
Mailchimp is a great tool for users of all business types and technical knowledge. However, there came a time where we needed more flexible flow, user, and activity management. Because of this, we will be migrating away from Mailchimp, but I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to others.
Mailchimp is excellent for 95% of companies, and 100% of companies who need to send emails to their customers while providing an easy way to sign them up. However, given our growing e-commerce presence and the need for easier to control user activity triggers, list segmentation, list flexibility. We needed to move. If you have customers who you need to move regularly across segments or new lists, you'll hit some roadblocks here. You are charged for every time a user appears on a list, which is frustrating. They've recently introduced user labels/tagging, which brings them a step closer to the likes of Klaviyo & Drip, but they still are not nearly as customizable.

Using Mailchimp

3 - Mailchimp is heavily utilized by our inside sales and marketing team. Additionally, our ecomm department is a big user.
3 - Mailchimp is user-friendly and intuitive. Where there are sticking points they have an excellent knowledge base and support team. People who are comfortable with computers and have used any kind of marketing software before should have no problem with Mailchimp.
  • Contact Onboarding
  • Customer Marketing
  • The automation workflows proved to be invaluable to our marketing team. Initially Mailchimp was brought on for one-off email campaigns, but our ability to trigger automation workflows to educate and indoctrinate users for our loyalty program was incredibly helpful. We created seasonal flows with incentives to buy or become more engaged in the program, saving us significant time with content creation.
  • Mailchimp has made communication with our account holders simple and smooth. We run regular industry training events and the ability to create and distribute campaigns in a matter of minutes has made it so our team can focus on the execution and planning of events and customers appreciate the regular contact.
  • We've only scratched the surface of the ecommerce workflow integrations/triggers.
  • The ability to send postcards alongside email campaigns is brilliant...traditional advertising is not dead!
It's a great solution for our 150+ employee company!
