Overall Satisfaction with Miro

As a business we Miro for:

Idea generation - at the start of a project we often over Teams use Miro to generate ideas or concepts for a project, dropping in reference or quick scamps, and formulating ideas from that.

Layout/Prototyping - as other services (Adobe or PPT) don't provide live editing, Miro is super useful for this.

Layouts for presenting - for client presentations, we sometimes use Miro to present work, ranging from ideas to finalised projects. It's easier to navigate than Powerpoint/Keynote or a PDF.

Pros

  • Interface
  • UX
  • Connectivity
  • Easy to use and navigate
  • Branding

Cons

  • Functionality with other apps, especially Adobe. Copy and pasting for example.
  • Better CPU spread - when you have a miro open with lots of videos/gifs, it takes up too much running memory.
  • Font integration
  • Better colour integration/options
  • More sophisticated layout tools - smart guides, locking, adjusting type better in containers
  • Improved productivity
  • Allows us as agency to work collaboratively when working remotely
  • Reduces working time as we can layout in Miro instead of C+P into other presenting software
As we work from home more often now, it allows collaboration which can replace the traditional in-office brainstorms. During the start of Covid-19, it was essential for business, we would have really struggled without it as there isn't to my knowledge any other software that does what Miro does.

As we are a global agency, it allows us to work with other offices around the world. It's nice waking up to see lots of new work whilst other teams in different timezones have worked it.

Do you think Miro delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Miro's feature set?

Yes

Did Miro live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Miro go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Miro again?

Yes

It's well suited at the start of a project, great for collaborative idea generation, prototyping, using it a living (in terms of GIFs and videos) and live tool to present ideas

I think it's less appropriate at the moment towards the end of a project, as layout design isn't that intuitive or smart. Has a long way to go to overtake InDesign for example, but if it offered the same tools and UX as InDesign it would be make InDesign obsolete!
