Overall Satisfaction with Miro

I use Miro primarily to work on collaborative artefacts with colleagues, to document project stages, develop product ideas, visual user flows and high level journeys as part of digital product development, and use for the facilitation and participation in workshops. I have used some of it's embedded templates, but also created my own boards that I duplicate to work on a Value Proposition Canvas or the Lean Product Canvas. Some the the in built widgets provide useful features such as the image and icon drop. Recently I've used the tagging to great effect in order to name and cluster themed sticky notes.

Pros

  • Collaborative space where multiple people can work at the same time.
  • Easy to share without the need to create accounts
  • Enterprise account enable effective system management within large organisations

Cons

  • Some simplification could be applied or options given.
  • AI features are getting better
  • Copying and pasting across other products doesn't work that well
  • It's difficult to pinpoint ROI for Miro, but it absolutely allows people to work on collaborative documentation remotely, which is very beneficial.
  • There is an arguement it could accelerate decision making and ideation.
In an Enterprise account it can be frustrating when you cant get the access you would like, but this is the point, to lock down access when required. In terms of implementation it is easy to onboard and up-skill with very little effort needed in training new skill sets. It is a very intuitive system to use.
Integration was slightly more complex but this was down to the nature of our organisation. It doesn't quite align and integrate with our other business tools perfectly, but there are work arounds and the effort is worth it for the benefit of having it within our organisation. I'm delighted we have finally got Miro.
We are a global organisation with colleagues scattered across the world. Without a collaborative tool like Miro we would not be able to work as effectively as we are able to do. It has transformed how our organisation works and improved working relationships within the business. I have seen an increased use of Miro month on month
Miro is by far the market leader in whiteboarding tools. It can sometimes feel overly complex for the task in hand but when you are used to all the features you are glad they are there. I like the simplicity of FigJam as a direct competitor, but sometimes need the additional features the Miro has. I like some of the inbuilt taggin features and the AI features look to be improving.

Are you happy with Miro's feature set?

Did Miro live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Miro go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Miro again?

Yes

It's the industry leading collaborative workspace tool. Where it is most useful is in the discovery phases of a project, although it can be effective when used to document progress across a whole project. I'd like to see the introduction of multiple pages within a workspace, but can understand why this might not be desirable. It's specifically good at workshopping ideas (affinity mapping), or working on value proposition canvas or Lean Product canvas type activities. I've build service blueprints which seem to work well too.
