Overall Satisfaction with monday.com

Capacity planning, task management, project management, and some amount of finance calculations. Some teams also use it for knowledge management, as well. These aren't, or IMO, shouldn't be called "Business problems" they are more like business challenges in the day2day. My use case are mostly capacity, project management, and collaboration. We track tasks, stakeholders, resources and any material needed for the deliverables.

Pros

  • Team collaboration
  • easy to input data via email and templates
  • automations
  • link different parts of different projects

Cons

  • Notification system, not trustworthy for me
  • More tools to input data automatically, more functionality without having to do APIs
  • More calculation capabilities within the columns
  • Positive overall, task management is easy to set up, easy to replicate, duplicate and modify.
  • Collaboration has all the standards by now, tagging, linking, messaging, etc.
  • Boards enable a fast organization of tasks, repositories, responsibilities and tracking with dates and notifications.
  • automations enable fast actions that provide no real value if done manually. Being able to autocreate, autoclose, and many others makes it easier to follow processes and make less mistakes.
Usability is great. Again, if you dont overuse, the performance of the tool is great. Overuse I would describe it as having multiple linked boards with automations with hundreds of rows and dozens of columns. If you archive accordingly, clean up accordingly, the system´s performance is good. Visually it's very easy to look at, nice color, fonts, visual aids, ability to customize etc. Automations work great if you learn how to use them accordingly, and once you put in the work at the beginning, it can save you tons of time. The templates are great most of the time, usually to give you ideas on how to start.
I don't use the customer support at all because that is usually for the PO to access. But its true that the guides, tutorials, and explanations are very good, with clear examples, multiple use cases and easy to find search engine that provide most of the knowledge needed to get things working.

Regarding the critiques, the whole "3rd party" implementing monday.com instead of monday.com, which is a very common model, is a hit or miss. If your partner sucks, support will not be good.
Recently it is very good. The volume and usage matters for each company, if you are a small company, it will work great. If it starts getting too big, it may stutter every now and then. In my experience, they are temporal, and the use of the tool in day2day is very easy going. So, it all depends on your volume and the way your automations and links are structured. There is some due diligence needed to make things work since monday.com provides an inmense amount of customization.
monday.com offer much of the standard tools and seems to be ever evolving. They seem to take feedback and constantly upgrade the tools. If all the tools are there, the differentiating factor might be the cost, any integrations you may need, and the visual "chemistry". To me, monday.com is really nice to look at. It works pretty fast, and the UIX is very intuitive.

Do you think monday.com delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with monday.com's feature set?

Yes

Did monday.com live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of monday.com go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy monday.com again?

Yes

It is important to not overuse monday.com. The problem I see is when operations are dependent on the use monday.com which should be a collaboration tool and not a process tool within the inherent business logic of the company. If used accordingly for collaboration and task tracking, integrating info with emails and other tools, notifying teams and third-parties etc, it is an excellent tool and very nice to look at, which also helps.
