Paycom Assessment
Overall Satisfaction with Paycom
We use Paycom for our payroll needs primarily; we also use it for recruitment, onboarding COBRA administration, Open Enrollment and Labor Allocation. Streamlines billing with our medical providers, provides ease of use for our employees. It is my primary role and primary application used in my position as Payroll Specialist.
Pros
- Background checking module works well
- Employee Single Service Sign On for employees
- Onboarding new hires
- quarterly filings
- file feeds to carriers
Cons
- Position management can be confusing and clunky
- Recruitment tool and job postings are weak
- hard to quantify - positive impact not many issues external facing to employees. They have a reliable payroll app that they know how to use. and trust the data is safe and accurate. Plus they are paid timely and accurately. employee retention increase for a positive
- negative impact would be the cost is higher than anticipated but to change would involve alot of disruption so we are riding it out. trying to utilize all aspects and modules to get the most out of products.
- 25% increase is definite negative when we think we are paying too much already.
Better. nice to have one login and manage many payroll functions within one system. Not ideal for a payroll system to have 100% functions though, per industry standards, auditor recommendations. We need to have some controls and standalone products.
Simplified things. Most is managed by the small 2-person payroll department. There are not many functions for managers to utilize, at this point in time. They need to focus on the people management skills, retention and business development. They have access to timecard approvals, job costing/labor allocation, some recruitment functions and time off requests. We handle most transactions.
not much. didn't find it useful.
Comparable. Decent. I'd say Paycom is a better product. Better interface. Alot of updates though that we don't always know about or just blame an issue on "fluke". Customer Service is sub-par with Paycom.

Paycom Feature Ratings
Support and Self-Service
Yes. Streamlined functions and employees are familiar with the way to communicate, put in time off requests, manage their timecard.
Had a consultant work with us 4-6 weeks and deep dive on products and solutions. She came onsite for a workshop and continues to keep in touch and provide professional and supported responses.
Minimal improvement from a processes perspective.
